Re: TV Settings
calibrated tv's are not for games. Those settings are for critical movie watching.
If you have a Samsung LED tv....Put game mode first as it is required on Samsung tv's
In game mode put the following
Back Light 17-18
Contrast 100
brightness 45
sharpness 0-10
Color 55
Screen Fit
Dynamic Contrast Med
Gama -1
Color at Auto
Black Level at Low
If you have a recent Samsung then Smart LED setting at medium
Cinema Black at YES
Those will be excellent for Samsung LED tv as it will give you pop in colors and good contrast. Not recommended for tv or movie watching. Just for games

Re: TV Settings
I have no idea what game mode even dose. I don't noticed any difference if I have game mode on or not at all. It looks and fell the same way no matter if I have game mode on or not. I have a felling that calibrating a tv doesn't make even close to as big of a difference has people say just like blu-ray movies.Rams, Jays, Raptors, LeafsComment

Re: TV Settings
This is how I set up my Samsung TV: first al all I set the input source name to PC (this will disable all post processing), then set hdmi black level to low and at the same time RGB color space to limited in the PS4 settings), image format 16:9 of course. That's the best picture you can get for videogames.Comment

Re: TV Settings
I'm pretty sure he is referring to HD DVD. And while blu ray is still better. It's reasonable for some people to not notice that.Comment

Re: TV Settings
The screenshots are direct feed, so they are independent of your TV settings.
If limited looks washed out, it probably means your TV is "full" capable, so switch to full on your PS4. If you aren't sure, go into the PS4's web browser and search for "limited vs full rgb test." Find an image with a bunch of black boxes, open it, and switch between limited and full. If your TV has full rgb then you should be able to see each box as an individual shade of black.
Edit:
I have a Sammy LED too and I use full rgbBakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

Re: TV Settings
Or his DVD player is upscaling. I too do not notice much difference when it comes to blu-ray movies because all DVD/blu-ray players upscale. Then again I am of a different mind when it comes to the whole resolution wars. I find PPI more important then resolution. 4k tv is just marketing speak as far I am concerned. 4k is good for 50+ inch tvs that people sit close to. I good 1080p 32 inch is going to look better than a good 1080 50 inch due to a higher PPI.Comment

Re: TV Settings
Remember to keep the PS4 RGB setting to limited, even if your tv supports full, black level must be at low then.
