Re: TV Settings
Or his DVD player is upscaling. I too do not notice much difference when it comes to blu-ray movies because all DVD/blu-ray players upscale. Then again I am of a different mind when it comes to the whole resolution wars. I find PPI more important then resolution. 4k tv is just marketing speak as far I am concerned. 4k is good for 50+ inch tvs that people sit close to. I good 1080p 32 inch is going to look better than a good 1080 50 inch due to a higher PPI.
I have a blu ray player and so yeah it dose up scale when you watch dvd movies but even before I had that and didn't up scale I didn't really notice a difference between blu ray and dvd. Now 4k is another story though it looks way better.Comment

Re: TV Settings
I'm using a professionally calibrated setting I got with my tv purchase.. I thought the THX mode looked good but the calibrated setup is fantastic. Took a few weeks to get used to, but I enjoy it for everything. Colors aren't suppose to "pop". It looks as if I'm watching in person.

I wouldn't mess with it if I were you. I doubt you'll notice much of a difference."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment
