I'm a prospect for the Cleveland Indians, and the season so far is not what I expected. I'm 2-5, with 4.22 ERA with the Rubberducks. Nothing to make me closer from AAA.
Last game was, special, to say the least. Start up slowly, retiring first 3 guys. Then, seems like I was untouchable. Don't know if I struck out 11 or 12 in a row. It was at the top of the 7th with 1 out when the first ball of the game left the infield, a little popup to the outfield for an easy out. Then, another SO, and 2 more in the 8th.
After 8, I was perfect. No BB, no hits. Problem was I started the 9th tied at 0-0 and the other guy was pitching great too, allowing only 4 hits. First bater of the ninth, 2-2, my 4SM wasn't where I wanted it to be, a slapper to RF, here goes the no-no and the perfect game. Crowd was cheering when the manager came out.
I had a nice ovation and that was cool. Stats line was 8.0 IP, 33 balls, 77 strikes, 1 hit, 0 BB, 20 SO. A freaky good game, the game of my life I will say. A SB, a hit, and it was 1-0 for the other team. Guys couldn't manage a run in the ninth. I had responsiblity for the run, and I got the loss!
After the game, while the scorebox was showing the WP, SV and LP, my manager approached me as started yelling at me. With the arms going around like crazy, I had to watch that idiot give me the business for the loss. Even as a hitter, going 0 for 5 with 3 SO in another RTTS, I've never saw my manager getting that irritated after me.
I started to cry (nah, I'm kidding, but I can see myself at 10 playing that game and starting to cry getting yelled at like that after the gem I had). More seriously, in real life I would have stand up and punch him in the face!
MLB 15 The Show can be tough on you, but I didn't expect it to be that tough. After all that, geez, I'm 2-6!
