    Stepping off

As we all know, when playing defense, if we press L1 the pitcher will step off and look the runner back. Has anyone ever actually had the runner take off when doing this? Does this action have any purpose other than resetting the pitcher for a different pitch selection?

    Re: Stepping off

I find it helpful in head to head games when your opponent tries to early steal. Otherwise against the CPU it is just to change your pitch selection.

It can throw your opponents timing off a little bit if they are trying to steal.
