So What Are The Reasons Why Roofs Don't Close?

I am running a franchise with the Mariners and why is the roof always open? I'm practically new to the MLB series like I said numerous times on my other threads/posts and I apologize if this has been addressed in the past but what are the reasons behind it? Is it a glitch that only affects Safeco Field or is it how the game was made? I'm on the ps4 and I feel that there is no excuses for this especially since this is next gen.

It has been mentioned a few times via the streams and various threads. I believe they will try and address it in future games.

They have to build a whole new stadium model and there simply was not enough time in the 2015 development cycle to do the work and still deliver all the other new stadium models that they did. Perhaps they will find the time for next year's version? Time will tell. It would definitely be nice to have, but it's not a show stopper.

Definitely not a show stopper but it can be a vibe killer.

It is a show stopper for me. I won't be purchasing another mlb game until the lid closes. Still got a season going on 13 TS anyway.

The design decision should have been closed roofs if all they could have was one model.

Arizona and Miami's stadiums are closed 90% of time anyway, Houston's is closed a lot too.

There should be room for both as there would only need six extra models ingame to fix this.

Silly when temperature reads 109 in the game menu and Chase Field is open.

I disagree completely, just cause the new lighting is so darn pretty. But yeah, for realism some stadiums roofs are mostly closed through the year.

We have to give them time, as the devs mentioned many times, a closed and open version to the code driving the game are two completely different stadiums, not just slight changes to the same stadiums. To them this wasn't as much of a priority as getting the seasonal lighting stuff working like they wanted.

Sure, but didn't they put in 8 or so new minor league stadiums this year?

I'm pretty sure almost everyone would have rather had closed roof versions of SafeCo, Chase, Marlins Park, Minute Maid, Miller, and Rogers Centre and 2 new minor league parks. Especially considering that they can just duplicate those stadiums and then only need to re-do 20-30% of it or whatever it is, only the parts that are involved with the roof would need to be re-done. The field, the bleachers, anything that doesn't MOVE is just a straight 1:1 copy.

I don't think so. I think Ramone said that they were the same ones that had been in the last gen game but they didn't have the time to fit in. So there was a little less work for them to do in order to get them in the game. But I may be wrong.

They are the same stadiums as the ones from the PS3 that didn't make the switch to PS4 last year, but they still had to be re-built from the ground up like every single PS4 stadium was on MLB 14.
