Hidden Ball Trick!

Just had Casey McGehee and George Kontos try the old hidden ball trick on Rosell Herrera in my Rockies franchise. Thank the baseball gods for my third base coach Brad Ausmus(sp?). Never seen it in the past, and a welcome tidbit if you ask me. Thanks SCEA

Anyone else see it?

Nope, not yet. But that's a pretty cool addition. In what way could you counter it? Was the entire process automated?

Yes in my RTTS. I was surprised when the guy on 3B approached the pitcher and then all of a sudden the 3B coach did some animation as well as my "guy". I was not tag out....yea its a cool thing

Its like a cut scene. I was DESTROYING Bumgarner and they brought in Kontos for relief. The game then cut to McGehee approaching Kontos and I could clearly see the ball not being handed to Kontos. It then cut to Herrera talking to my 3B case coach, then my third base coach freaked out and signaled for him to rush back to the base.

It was pretty cool and the first time I ever saw it in the game.

Has anyone been tagged out when this happens? This is the first time I think I've ever seen this happen in this game or previous versions, and it surprised the heck out of me. I didn't get tagged out, though, so was wondering if it's ever worked on or for anyone? Very, very cool.

You can't get tagged out - it's just a scene that happens in the game sometimes for "fluff", so to speak. Can you imagine what would happen if somebody had the tying run called out at 3rd in the 9th on something like that? It's an uncontrollable cutscene and you're just along for the ride.

You'd never hear the end of it on this board.

Haha. I was thinking the same thing. In fact, the guy I had on third was my go ahead runner I think in the 7th inning so that's what inspired me to ask. I was just thinking man, you know how pissed I would be if my go ahead runner on third was called out like THAT?! And via a cutscene, nonetheless? I'd probably rage quit at that point.

Regardless, it's still cool to see that for the first time, and I've been playing The Show for years. Nice 'little thing' to go along with the others in this series. Glad to see it's not overdone like some of the others, as well.

Just had a beach ball interrupt play before my pitcher and Springer was chasing it around lol
