This has confused me for years on the Show. Question about ratings

This has been around for years on the show, and its just a minor issue. I have always been curious as why, so made a post about it.

So I am the Astros and Colby Rasums starts at CF for me and his rating there is a 70. If i move Colby to LF by editing lineup etc his rating goes to 75,however he can play any outfield position. Now the overall is all that changes, nothing else changes so this is why I am confused.

Its been the same in other years of the show, with infielders etc. I am not talking about moving a catcher to CF, because I would expect some sort of ratings drop there. I am sure you know what I am talking about, so hoping there is a reason for this.

OVR is simply like a weighted average of player attributes. The reason why it varies based on position is that the weight given to each attribute is different for each position (e.g., Speed is important for CF but not Power, the opposite is true for 1B... and the weights change accordingly).
