Re: Tips on How to Hit

am I the only one experiencing framerate issues while at bat? even offline there are spikes where I can't even see the ball, it'll just lag as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand and by the time it catches up it's already in the catcher's glove.

Just reading your post. I do not know if you said your TV is set to Game Mode, if not try that.

Now, I've accumulated so many points, my RTTS player -- through 1.5 seasons -- is already rated 99. LOL. Now I don't feel there's a challenge in RTTS and I strictly play season mode, lol

How do you earn training points? Do you earn them in franchise mode as well?

No you can only earn training points for your RTTS in RTTS. You can however earn stubs in franchise mode which can be used to convert into training points. You earn a good chunk of stubs per game so it's not like you're missing out on anything.

I've read countless threads dedicated to people sharing their frustration with their inability to hit. Looking for advice. I'm hoping this thread helps people who are struggling.

Re: Tips on How to Hit

The main reason I struggle to hit is when I'm picking the pitch up out of the pitcher's hand late. Meaning, if I don't watch the ball from his release point, I'm toast. My PCI is all over the place (mostly low) and my timing is off.

Generally, I look off somewhere to the side of the pitcher's head - depending on the pitcher's handedness - where the ball is going to be released. If I don't know where the release point is, I'll focus on the logo of the pitcher's hat until he goes into his motion.

Once I start picking up the ball from his release point, the positioning of my PCI (zone hitting) and timing instantly improves.

I'll try to grab some screen shots and then post a couple pictures of what I'm talking about.

I actually earn a ton more training points playing Season mode (same would go for Franchise mode). On a GOOD game by my player in RTTS, I'll get 100 or so training points.

But on a single Season mode game, I could earn 200-300 XP points that I can convert to training points.

@japinard: When you are in the RTTS menus, press the touchpad button, and it will bring up another menu, where you can buy RTTS training points. 1,000 XP = 1,000 training points

That is what works for you. Everyone needs to find something they are comfortable with. Camera angle, approach, pitch selection. These are things that make you better hitters. No two hitters are going to have the same approach. Mike Trout doesn't approach an AB the way Miggy C does, or the way David Ortiz does. All great hitters, all approach the game differently. I've tried to give you guys my blueprint, what i've used to be successful. Sometimes that will work for others, sometimes it won't. The point is trying different things and finding something that you're comfortable with.
I think this is horrible advice and advise anyone looking for hitting tips to disregard it. If you are struggling with hitting, it is likely that some aspect of your "comfortable" approach is flawed whether it be the camera, pitch selection, or how you use the PCI. Get out of your comfort zone and try something completely different.

Edit: I disagreed with beginning of the quoted text to such an extent that I didn't bother finish reading the rest of it. Having given it a full read, I see that advice was given to try different things. So I will recant the "horrible" label and extend my apologies.

A lot of the advice here says to adjust the camera setting. But what if we're having trouble in Diamond Dynasty and can't adjust the camera to see the ball better?

You can adjust the camera setting in DD. You just can't use a custom setting.

Lol it's funny because I read the first part of your response first before the edit and had to reread what I wrote to make sure it came out as I intended it. After I saw the edit and it made more sense lol. Don't worry sometimes I read the first couple of lines of something and i'm ready to fight it until I read the whole thing and it makes more sense.

This thread could have been summarized neatly with a few tips:

Take pitches and realize what each of the pitcher's pitches look like. Keep your eye on the ball at all times. And don't go up with the notion that you're going to hit. Take what the pitcher gives you and try not to be too aggressive.

Just look for pitches in places u feel u are at ur best. Right now my weakness is the high fast ball. But just be patient. And Practice. Put Kershaw on Legend hit the cages. U will get better breh
