    Stealing is too easy

Even when i pitch out with someone fast on base ill never get them, slide step doesnt help either. It needs to be harder like last year.

I agree it seems that way, but just for the record most teams steal bases at better than a 70% clip (literally 7 or more out of every 10 attempts) with the best teams above 80%. It's not like it's supposed to be a 50/50 split or something. Again, just for the record here.

Sal Perez has one of the best arms in the league and only throws out about 35% of runners. That means they're successful at stealing 65% of the time against the AL Gold Glove catcher.

However, I agree that it's way too easy in the game if you pick your spots with the right guy on base. There really isn't even a fear of getting thrown out at 2nd if your guy has 75 speed or higher.

Well the MLB average is about 72% right now so do not expect to throw every runner out. Also, online is much harder to throw runners out because of the lag or sometimes the animations are slowed so it is not easier, I think it really has not changed.

Stop quick pitching. They are manually timing you. Hold the ball for a few seconds. Step off. Get an easy pick off.

To clarify. I don't mean hold the ball for a few seconds deciding which pitch to throw. I mean hold the ball for an extra second or 2 or 3 after you come set. Makes it really hard to get that great manual jump by holding and releasing L2. Most will take off too early, and get picked off once, then have late jumps after out of fear of being picked off.

That would matter if people were actually only stealing in realistic spots instead of just about every time they get on base. The real life percentage would plummet if players stole as much as people did in this game.

                  Re: Stealing is too easy

I disagree. I'm finding no problem with defending stealing online. Stealing is a high percentage play in the first place so you should expect to fail to get the runner most of the time anyways.

But I've consistently thrown out 99 speed runners with pitch outs and I even catch runners with slide steps and fastballs about 50% of the time. Also make sure they aren't taking a couple of steps while you are set, or they will definitely make it.

The only issue I have with it is the animations. The 2B guy will often flub the catch or take his sweet time applying the tag. Apparently they just fixed this with the patch today though.

If you are playing Diamond Dynasty, get a catcher who can actually throw the ball. If you are playing just normal online or offline, then deal with it. If you are playing with a team that has a weak catcher, then you better not let someone on base with speed, just like in real life.
