Attempted steal & double play...caught stealing?
Runner on first, no outs. Send the runner on first and batter hits a hard grounder to short and double play is turned.

Was the runner on first on a steal attempt or hit-and-run? -
Re: Attempted steal & double play...caught stealing?
I have noticed a lot of weird things with the base runners too. Such as my RTTS runner on first stealing on a full count, batter walks, I get credited with a stolen base. Or my guy getting picked off and counted as "caught stealing."Comment

Re: Attempted steal & double play...caught stealing?
I've had my RTTS player credited with a steal on 3-2 count 2 out walk as well. And in my Cubs franchise last night, I had a runner on first, nobody out called for hit and run (I think it was a 2-1 count) and hit it to right field, single and the runner advanced to third, runner on third credited with a stolen base.Comment

I have seen it. I also have been charged with a caught stealing on a hit and run when I hit a line drive to an infielder and my guy has no chance of getting back to first and gets doubled up.Comment

Re: Attempted steal & double play...caught stealing?
This may be related, but I've also seen, with less than two outs, baserunners take off running as if the batter hit a foul ball when instead he checked his swing w/ no contact. This happens to me when I never called a steal in the first place.
It's obviously just the wrong animation being called, but in real life they'd be thrown out.Comment
