Does Anyone Play Season Instead of Franchise?

I've been thinking ever since the OSFM rosters came out, how to handle my franchise. There's no way I'll ever play 162 games. I hate simulating, because when a player comes up to bat, and his stats show, I want those to be my stats with the player, not simmed stats.

So if I'm never going get through a full season, then what's the point of having 100 minor leaguers?

Now I'm thinking, if I just play season mode instead, I can set the season length to 29 and actually get through multiple seasons and develop prospects without simming.

In other sports games, Season mode always meant just one season, so I didn't realize in the show it goes multiple years. The only catch is you're limited to 40 players in your organization (I think, it could be 50).

Does anyone else just grab the 25 man active roster, top 5 or 10 callup players in AAA, and top 5 or 10 prospects from OSFM, and take them over to season mode? This is the only way I can see it working without simming, so I'm just wondering if anyone else does this.

I always use season mode. I love it.

I play every pitch of every game, so I'll be doing well to get to season two. And I've always preferred only having to worry about my 40-man roster instead of a minor league system.

This is my 4th year playing MLB The Show and I've only ever played Season mode. Unless time on a given day is a short, I too play every pitch (I am not a fan of Quick Counts for my games though I do use them for CPU vs CPU games), and when time permits I play in full Broadcast presentation mode. 28 Spring Training + 162 Regular Season + any possible playoff games are an awful lot of games to play in one season and by the time October rolls around I am drained and it's time to think about Football season anyway, I don't need to worry about playing a 2nd season with a given MLB The Show release. By the time the season ends I have already logged hundreds and hundreds of entertainment hours.

PS: I do sort of wish I could add and remove players from my 40-man roster. If Season mode comes up short, it is in this aspect. But other than that, I am happy with how Season mode works.

I play Season, every pitch from Spring Training to October. It's my favorite thing about the game --in fact, it's the only mode I play. I play that day's IRL scheduled game nearly every day (miss a few here and there that I make up with double and triple-headers during the season). It's like actually playing the season for me, in a way. I don't do Franchise because I just wanna play and manage the on-field action of the 40-man roster. I don't even do trades, I just roll with what I've got and try to make it to October. It's given me a much deeper understanding of the game and made me a better baseball fan.

I usually have one full-blown Franchise save and one Season save. There are times when I don't want to be bothered with trades, injuries, etc. and just want to play and see who comes out on top at the end of the year. Season Mode is perfect for that.

I started a season mode not long after it was released. In that mode I am trying to play out every game.

In Franchise, I am using a rotating player lock to get through the games quicker.

How far I get into either mode remains to be seen.

Ive played Season mode since the 1st MLB The Show came out. I don't like dealing with all the extra stuff in Franchise. Plus I always play 82 game seasons to speed them up since they do carry over season to season. I never sim any games.

82 is an option too. How does the scheduling work in an 82 game season?

I have a present day franchise but I usually wind up enjoying season mode more with classic historic rosters, esp. circa 1980's.

I play season. What I like is a simulation of just this season. I'll be lucky to play all 162. So when the actual 2016 rolls around, I'll start a new season.

I play season. I don't care to manage minor league squads.

Does anyone know or approximately know how many seasons you can play in season mode before I simulate to find out? I plan on playing a few seasons but don't won't to mess with all the other options just straight 40 man roster in case of injury and play the games.

I gave up counting a couple weeks ago at 25 seasons.
Was exporting players each year up to 25 years, so as to have players with service time for each year.
