The one with traditional counts clocked in at 56 minutes in 8 and a half innings with the home team winning 10-2. I had to pause a couple times, but I stopped the clock when I did and resumed it again when I unpaused. And for both games I used broadcast presentation, I didn't use fast play, though sometimes I did hit X to fast forward through the cutscenes.

It'd be interesting to see if anyone else out there has ever tried this and what the results were. I had fun with working the count and all, but 56 minutes is quite awhile to sit through a game.
ok first off let me ask you... are you a true blue bleed red white and blue, and your teams colors baseball fan? is it your FAVORITE sport?

i take it with those times you are button mashing through the game and still complaining it is too long...

those of you that are button mashing through this game (your choice of course) are missing out on so much stuff... IMO.

so sitting through a baseball game for 30 -50 minutes is too long.. but i bet you would be the same person to binge on a half a day or more of any shooter out there right now or an RPG...

Also, if you can sit down and watch a REAL game for close to and most of the time for 3 full hours including commercials, you can't complain about sitting through a 30-50 minute baseball game.

if that is too long for you and your nano second span, i suggest player lock... five minute games...

also if you want t o focus better take a lot of B vitamins.. (B6 and 12) these will help your focus levels very well.

i play a full game with QC and still have a hour + long game because i experience every last detail in this game tat the developers put all their blood sweat and tears into and their bodies and souls..

oh and if i play a game with standard counts.. 1.5 - 2.0 hrs... if it doesnt go into extra innings... played a 19 inning game the other day... 3+ hrs in real time... you would have died... i loved every second of it..

i think that about covers it...

My Full Counts games usually take about 1:15-1:30, and my Quick Counts games usually take up to about 0:45-1:00, depending on the quality of the pitches. I love Full Counts but I use Quick Counts for Franchise games to get more realistic walk counts for my own pitchers. I usually use Full Counts during Spring Training and The Playoffs.

I'm clocking in at an hour and twenty minutes long.. I'm like some others, I go through the lineup and find the best pitcher vs batter matchup. Other times I'm looking at stats and just enjoying the game in general!

I also played full NBA and NFL games so nothing new to me.

That's a great point that I haven't heard often enough...Using quick counts (as much as I'd prefer not to), is the only way I can get realistic walk numbers. Otherwise I never walk anyone...

Usually takes me 90 minutes. Only play full counts and I don't button mash.

The thing of it is, I'm part of two online franchises, and two offline franchises. Plus I have a wife and two dogs that are constantly snipping at my heels for attention. Then I also want to follow the real Cubs. And the NBA playoffs are on. Then there's the Women's World Cup this summer. Not to mention other life obligations. And I like how Quick Counts keeps games short without compromising the presentation.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

Re: Anyone ever time these games?

If I played Madden with 15 minute quarters I would have like 1000 yards. But it is Madden so for me whatever, who cares. I think on the rare occasion my brother gets me to play it is like 6 minute quarters we play and that feels like a thousand years... Just not into it is all.

NBA 2K I play 10 minute quarters to get stat lines correct. That means the games last close to an hour unless one skips all replays and the stuff that makes it awesome and feel like something.

The Show is by far better! Well, I just love baseball. But here is the thing, if I go full counts full nine, it takes about an hour and a half, sometimes longer as I like to study pitching patterns and stuff. On occasion maybe play a single game for up to two or more hours. I do nt worry about the time as what difference is it if I play for two hours and play a game and a half or just 9 innings.

Here is the deal though, one can quit midway and resume (though I never have). You can skip ahead if way out in front (though I never have). Quick counts is amazing, if time pressed (though I never use them). Ou can play only every third game or every fourth or whatever (though I play all 162 and hopefully a few postseason if things go right).

For me it is about baseball, all the nuances and such. I watch each batter go through his prebat stuff. I warm up my pitchers when they come in. Call time in the box if the opposing pitcher is taking too long. I check baserunners back. Heck, I just like to chill out and play it as simmed as possible. I use classic pitching so my guys sometimes hang a curve and get it planted three rows deep! I bat with timing, so attributes matter more than my placement of a curser. I like how each pitcher asks for a new pitch call different, so I sometimes step off the rubber. When it finally all 162 games are over and game seven of the divisional series we lose by one. I do not reset, it feels like that heartbreak when my team I support actually looses. Because the next spring training awaits! and the year we win it, if ever, will be amazing!

There is no wrong way to play, if the games feel too long, quick count or just bat odd innings and pitch even ones and sim the rest. Or if you just do not have spare time. Or whatever reason play how it is fun for you!

As for me... The Show is like going to the actual ballpark, if it takes all day, well there was nothing I would rather be doing. As Yogi once quipped, "I usually take a two-hour nap from one to four." So it is with The Show I usually play about an hour and twenty minutes of baseball in two hours.
