    Pitch speed

My main downfall while hitting has always been the changeup, but this year I'm struggling to hit fastballs too. More times than not I'm late on fastballs and early on changeups, I've been unable to tell what pitch it is out of his hand but these are the only two pitches I'm struggling with. I can hit sliders and curves no problem but it seems every pitcher has a devastating changeup. Currently playing and I've stuck out a couple times now on changeups despite the screen flashing "GOOD." This game confuses me as I don't get rewarded for good timing. Is this a pitch speed problem I'm having or should I adjust the timing slider? Also any suggestions on being able to identify fastballs and changeups better are appreciated.

    Re: Pitch speed

well i cant say for fastballs, but everyone seems to be having trouble with the changeup this year, people have been putting the pitch speed slider up a few notches to make it a bit easier to hit that pitch.

And about the "Good" swing flash. I my self have not seen a Single good hit from a "Good" swing. they have ALL been fouls 100% of the time. so frankly i just dont watch that or pay attention to that anymore.

If I had to guess, I'd say that whether you're late, early, or spot on is determined by what you do with the controller. What happens after that is a result of batter/pitcher ratings. I'm betting that higher vision hitters will be more likely to make contact on a late or early swing, and lower vision hitters can miss even with good timing.

The times I've whiffed with good timing, it's more often than not a lower vision player.

For fastballs, if you're ahead in the count or otherwise sitting for a fastball, push the stick up (directional hitting). You'll likely catch up to more of them.

I've been playing with pitch speed at two but I'm going to just eat my pride and bump it all the way down to zero. I'm late on EVERYTHING.

I can't hit that 12-6 Curve at any speed.

Don't feel bad we all got our weaknesses.

Try contact swing with 2 strikes.

Confirmation bias. You have never seen a good hit indicator result in a good swing because most of the time when you get a good swing, you actually hit the ball.

i had this same issue. I bumped speed up to 8 but i was still off and after a lot of trial games i did some research and came across some guys who actually lowered it below default. So wth ill try it And man it has been much better. Im sitting a 4 on pitch speed using armor and swords sliders for pitching. The timing is way better. Hope this helps u out. i tried at 3 and it was to slow for me i was infront of the fb. 4 was my sweet spot and gives u time to lay off those nasty breaks this year.

I've been unable to handle fastballs lately. Like they're literally in the glove before I swing. I wanna punch Kelvin Herrera in the face right now. Also I can barely do anything with anything inside. Getting pretty frustrated.

This is not my experience and, no, it isn't confirmation bias. You are able to see your timing on the pitch you put into play (or missed) before the first pitch of your next at bat. I have many hits and home runs that were early or went oppo cuz I was late and also lots of warning track outs when it was good timing. And this is on all difficulties as I played through dynamic this year because of all the changes and made it to Legend.

I think we all need to realize that the game tries to act like real life. I've played a lot of baseball and have gotten robbed on well timed rockets but also been lucky when the pitcher had me fooled and I had a little blooper. Great timing does not equal guaranteed success but it does help...
