Why is it that my RTTS teammates hardly swing when I'm on base? I get to second base after a steal or a double and the next three batters look at almost every pitch and hardly even swing. They strikeout probably 50% of the time. Yet they have no problem hitting home runs when the game sims. I think I have more stolen bases than runs scored...

That happened to me as well. Totally frustrating. I started simming to my next AB once I reached base because standing there while the CPU repeatedly struck out was an agonizing waste of time -

PATIENCE is a virtue.
But I understand you guys. The only way I stay in and dont go the next appearance is for the SB. At times my teammates could bring me home though.Comment

Totally agree with the original poster....I would actually chose not to sim running the bases if I got a little action every once in a while. Thank God you can sim to your next at bat, or I would be a pitcher in RTTS. LolComment

what i usually do is steal second and (attempt) third, if i make it i sim after that, get the points AND dont always have to sit through K'sComment

This is exactly what I do. Steal 2nd and get points for the steal and scoring position. If there are no outs I will see what will happen with the first 2 batters, if there is 2 outs I sim to my next appearance.
It is amazing how many leadoff doubles or triples I hit and get left on base. Either they will strike out twice and then fly out for the 3rd out or they will foul pop to catcher/1st/3rd and I cant advance. It used to drive me insane but now I expect it so its a pleasant surprise if I am able to make it home.Comment

I wouldn't even attempt base running with a slow player. Lots of standing around. I've got my guy up to 60 in speed to make that aspect of RTTS interesting.Comment

I have not seen this..at all and the only thing I play is RttS. I've been driven in plenty of times when I am base. You're not going to get driven in each time you're on base. That would be completely unrealistic.est 1978

It's not that... My player hits third, and the two guys behind him have sub .250 OBPs. The problem isn't really the function of base running in RTTS. It's the amount of time it takes compared to hitting and fielding, especially when you're stranded.Comment

For me, whenever I get a lead off double / triple, the CPU teammates always strike out, next batter walks, then a double-play... which ends the inning...

I know the feeling. Playing SS and batting 3rd for Yankees. Adrian Gonzalez who was traded for Brian McCann is batting 4th and Donnie Murphy (!!!) is playing 2B and batting 5th. A-Gon is hitting .220 with 6 HR and Donnie is hitting .240 right before the 2016 All Star Break. And if either one gets on base without scoring me, batting 6th is Tex on DH batting a cool .250 and 7th is John Ryan Murphy hitting an incredible .198.Last edited by kilmar1; 04-30-2015, 01:12 PM.Comment

What annoys me is I'm usually the leadoff or 2nd hitter, I steal 2nd on a base hit, and the best hitters on the team stand there looking at pitches or do infield pop up fouls. I'm not saying they never hit me in, but they act like the 8th place hitter or pitcher. Yet when I sim the game they hit home runs and RBIs no problem.Comment
