An INSANE amount of choppers in front of homeplate

    What in the world?

I see7-10 total choppers in front of home a game online. I just laugh at this point.
Specially on low change ups and splitters.

You see such choppers like once every 3 games in real life.

    I mean is just staggering.

This game also needs more bloopers and soft hits.

Agreed. I've yet to see a bloop hit in this game. Balls hit to the outfield are either 5 miles into the air or line drives. I can't stand the dribblers that happen all too often where the catcher pops up and fires it to first before the batter is even half way there.

I hit way too many choppers and very high infield pop ups. Luckily my guy is fast and I can get a hit on the choppers, in RTTS the catchers seem really slow, not superhuman fast.

This does happen a lot and did in past installments as well. You need to learn to lay off those low pitches out of the zone or it will continue to happen. Obviously, this is easier said than done but I know from personal experience. I'm extremely aggressive at the plate so it happens to me a lot as well.

I've had a few bloop singles so far about 20 games into my franchise so it's definitely there. Keep playing and you'll see.

Which batting interface are you using? Zone, directional, etc.?

I dont see this at all. I have noticed a significant lack of location-related foul balls (as opposed to fouls caused by late/early timing), though. So I absolutely believe you... I'm just saying I don't personally see it.

On Hall of Fame (where I bat), the PCI and timing window are small enough that it doesn't happen.

I get at least 3-5 of these per game using All Star Directional hitting...whether I move the stick around or not. It is out of balance. And to compound the problem, half of those the catcher takes his sweet time and the guy beats it out for a basehit.

Then I think your timing is early on (off-speed) pitches, and probably not moving the PCI down enough for those pitches also.

When I pitch to these guys who produce an unusual amount of choppers around the plate, that's what I often do. Throw junks down low (even outside the strike zone if they keep chasing) until they prove they can sit back and hit low pitches solidly.

I see them a lot on both Zone and Directional, more on Zone though. It's like you said, I see them a lot because of bad timing or swinging at crap pitches. But it is frustrating seeing so many bouncers off the plate, even though it is my bad swings causing them.

I'm seeing the same but I also see a ton of broken bats.

This annoys me, as does the inevitable strike out by the batter after me whenever I reach base on RTTS. I have not yet actually started to track how often those strike out occurs, but I am assuming that the batter that bats after I get a hit in RTTS, strikes out at least 70% of the time. I have had this problem for the past 2 years in The Show. Does not matter what team or where in the order I'm hitting either.

Re: An INSANE amount of choppers in front of homeplate

If Zone hitting and not topping the ball or if directional hitting, this is caused by being out infront of pitches low in the zone. It is exactly what happens in real life when way ahead of something low in the zone. Obviously actually at the plate this is not going to happen nearly as often as actually batting it is far easier to adjust. Though I have known a few teammates to do this often as in softabll it occurs much more than in baseball as do popups.

All this said, I agree with others it is annoying even if my fault to slap balls off home plate...

Broken bats are fastballs, cutters or 4seamers inside and against a select few pitchers sliders will splinter the lumber.

The key is get ahead in the count and wait for something well out over the plate. Even if strikes pitches hit that are onthe black rarely create good results. Be selective take even some borderline strikes, swing at pitches on the black only if you have 2 strikes. In the end you will still hit tough pitches poorly, after all 1-3 gets one in the Hall. Most MLB guys hit under .300 and so hitting with good contact is obviously not easy.

Last note, I found if you rarely walk, that more poor contact occurs. (maybe not true on lower difficulty levels I play on All-Star, so can not say) I believe this is to balance averages. If you insist on always hitting the ball and never walking the game compinsates and some decent hits become choppers or lazy flies. Just my opinion but I can say when walk numbers are fairly realistic balls I hit seem livelier, assuming my timing is close.

If really frustrated and just want to hit more, bump up contact slider or down pitch speed, as it makes timing easier. I like the game very sim like so Would not recommend this for that but make it fun for you!
