Also while i am not a slider expert im not sure if adjusting the user timming slider will help any with your hitting. As i belive that increasing it widens your timming window but im not 100% sure.

Re: Plasma
I have the timing window jacked up to the largest it can be. I have been playing The Show for a long time.
All though it isn't really a bug I made a report called "controller input calibration"
Feel free to give it some pluses so maybe we can get some help! To me this feature would be a win for everyone involved. It just makes sense.Comment

Re: Plasma
Try in the system or general settings. It's not a picture preset so you wouldn't see it when cycling through those.
And guys, TV's are like cars. There are many different models within each brand. Each have different performance and settings.
If you experience or don't experience input lag (this is difference from refresh rate), list your model number so people have a better idea. Saying something like "Sony LED" or "40-inch Samsung" doesn't mean anything. There are Samsung and Sony TV's that do Game Mode well and others not so well.Comment

Re: Plasma
I think the issue with controller calibration is that it could be abused, especially online. It would essentially allow anyone to basically have the pitch speed slider lowered for them.
The other thing is if the devs could even do it. From what some people said in the past regarding other games it may not be that easy to implement in games. In games like Rock Band it is to line up the audio and images.Comment

Re: Plasma
I am sure someone could abuse it, but, that is the nature of all things. I don't play online and never will. This wouldn't make the timing window bigger. It would move it so your actions are lining up with what is happening on screen.
Honestly not sure why anyone would object.

Re: Plasma
Input lag has been a huge issue ever since console games transitioned from CRT to LCD. There are reasons why console makers haven't added in lag calibration features even though people have been asking for them and some of it could be related to people abusing/cheating. I think it is mostly because it is hard to do. It would be another issue developers would have to deal with since it would be at the system level. So console makers' opinion is to just let developers implement this if they want (i.e. Rock Band, Rocksmith, etc). But there are games outside of the rythym genre that require precise timing and The Show is one of them.I am sure someone could abuse it, but, that is the nature of all things. This would be really hard to pull off in The Show as well since it isn't the audio/video sync we are talking about. Plus what about online, you already have two people to deal with, varying ping times, etc and then on top of that one of them has a lag setting of 56ms that needs to be accounted for.
I'd love to see it, but there are reasons why developers don't do it. I think the main one is that it is hard. From a customer perspective my main concern would be people abusing it, i.e. setting it early so that their inputs happen XXms faster.Comment

Re: Plasma
My pitch slider is all the way down. I still can't catch up to a fastball. I am not bad at the game. It would just be nice to pull a fastball and use the whole field. For the most part I hit everything the other way.
I really don't understand how moving the timing window to adjust for input lag could be abused. You aren't making it bigger. You are moving it. They would still have to hit a window of the same size. I don't think abusing it would be all that easy.
I am no expert in any of this. I would just like to enjoy all aspects of the show. Dynamic diff has me at a high all star rating so it isn't like I can't hit. I just don't have a very realistic range of hits.
The other thing is it isn't all about your tv's input lag. I just ordered a TV that is supposed to have 17 ms of lag. I will see if I can catch up to the fastball then! People shouldn't have to buy new tvs to enjoy the game. They could make it for offline only for all I care.
We have Charter in our area and my friend and I tried to play online a few years ago and it was unplayable. Some of that was probably due to his internet, but, Charter sucks around here. There signal just isn't consistent.Comment
