Choosing players starting on your 25 man roster after spring training?

After my first offseason I finished spring training the CPU automatically sent down players to the minors and decided my 25 man roster. I had to use options to send players down if I felt they needed more time in the minors. Is there some way to decide which players start the year on your 25 man roster? Thanks.

You have to send the players down before you advance to the regular season. And you have to use options regardless. So make sure your MLB roster is at 25 before you advance and the CPU wont change it. As long as you have it set to manual of course.

Oh ok so basically any player I have on my 40 man roster who I want to play in the minors has to use an option each year. Thanks for the help.
