    Spicing up Franchise Mode

I know by the title most of you think i'll be boring you with things i'd like to see added. Rest assured, I will not. There is already a thread for that. Instead I will share an idea I came up with that my friend and I implemented. One that has introduced a lot of fun in franchise for us. The idea is this...

Take an era of baseball (we focused on the 90's), choose 2 players for each team (we did one hitter, one pitcher. Though some teams we had to settle on 2 hitters). Choose a year in which those players played for that team (For instance Manny Ramirez didn't play with Boston until I believe he was 29, so you can't use his age 26 season and add him to Boston). Create the players based on the season you choose (and obviously make them that age). Finally add the players to each of the teams.

For this to be successful you have to stick to the rules you set (though for the Rays we stretched it a bit because they were an expansion team). Also be fair when it comes to things like Durability and Potential. Some players had their best year the year we chose, than had a steep decline. We used the players potential to account for that decline.

From there you can do whatever you like. You can choose a team and manage it, simulating and making deals. You can choose a team and play with them. You can create yourself, add yourself to the team and play with a couple of your favorite players on your favorite team without being completely unfair to the other teams. You can player lock yourself. There are several different options. You can even do this in RTTS, though you have a lot less control there and have to be mindful of that.

It's been fun for us so far. If you don't mind putting in a little time for the roster you might enjoy it yourself.
