    Re: Quick counts issues

I would love the option to use quick counts when pitching but not use it while batting. That would be perfect as I hardly ever walk a guy while I'm pitching if I control the whole AB unless it's intentional. But I just can't sacrifice the gameplay for that one aspect of the game.

I think this would be useful to many people.

Yeah I walk 1-2 batters a game without Quick Counts, but QC it is usually about 4-5 a game. Inflates my ERA a lot, especially with my bullpen guys. QC sure make the games faster though, so its an ok trade off. I just hate starting with 3 balls already as a pitcher, love it as a batter though!

As I mentioned in the other thread, play guess pitch without the mechanic, Just hold the PCI in a location with less than 2 strikes. and sit and wait on the pitch location you want. If you are focused on 1 area of the zone, then you can focus more on pitch recognition, fastball, Change up, Slider, Curve etc.

With less than 2 strikes, taking a strike isn't the worst thing, it's a lot better than just popping it up or hitting a weak grounder.

Also remember that failing 7 times out of 10 still means you are a GREAT hitter. Some at bats you are not gonna get a great pitch to hit. Some at bats you will smoke the ball and it goes right at some one. and some atbats you hit a weak knubber that has no business being a hit that somehow finds a hole. Thats baseball.

              Re: Quick counts issues

I've had to turn off QC because it was taking away to many options in my small ball tactics with the Braves. Unfortunatly I've experienced the man on 1st and 2nd with 0 outs get nullified when the next two batters come to the plate with 0-2 counts an annoyingly high number of times. Either I protect and usually ground into a double play or go ahead and attempt the sacrifice which more often than not leads to a strikeout off the foul. It was handicapping a terrible offense out of literally its only viable strategy.

Even if it forces your hand at times I'm fine with it. It goes both ways. I can come up with a 3-0 or 1-2 count and runners on 2nd/3rd.

It's really tough when you're pitching and you get a 2-3 straight 3-ball counts to the heart of the order.

I don't care about the flow of each AB because I'm not a single hitter facing the pitcher once an hour. I'm facing the pitcher every single pitch so I see everything.
