RTTS – what position did you choose and why?

I was curious what position other people chose to play in their road to the show experience and why. I chose to go with the starting pitcher. I chose a starting pitcher because I was probably going to play it a little less than actual franchise play, so it makes a good position for just a quick 20 minute half hour gameplay ...and as a kid in Little League I was wanted to be a pro pitcher. and I was also curious exactly how much progress you needed to develop and be really good and have a good pitching repertoire.

    What about you?

I always pick 1B. I model my player after Jim Thome. Just one of my favorite players growing up and I make him left handed as I am also left handed. I use result play untill I hit the majors and then I play every pitch. Sitting in the dugout gets a little boring, but I love being on the field for every play.

Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

My position is 3B. The reason for my choice is complicated and i'm sure no one cares..... So here is why.

I took an edited OSFM roster that someone posted in the vault (Did a great job with the edits) and added 2 great players (and Todd Jones) to each team. Stars from the 90's that I wanted to see play again in the game. I tried using a hitter and a pitcher but some teams got 2 hitters. I modeled each player after a certain season they played on that team. After looking through the rosters I liked the Marlins the best, so I chose them and saw that their position of need was 3B. So I play 3B for them. Now you guys may have the time I wasted back lol

Jim Thome is one of the players I created in my RTTS. He is the person I chose for the Indians, along with Omar Vizquel.

I picked shortstop, because my RTTS player is an older version of my 10 year old son, and I named him after Derek Jeter.

I am going to do a C/3B (or IF) after my oldest (15yo who has special needs) and use his 1st and middle name so I/he can hear it annouced when he is up to bat and etc. He gets excited when he watches me and the game says Anthony.

Someone (I am not smart enough to make such a program) needs to come up with some type of program that will make it so if you have a uncommon last name, you can put in and the program makes the announcers say the name. So for example, if your last name was Rybenstout (example) it would appear on ur jersey like that. Then for audio last name you could put in Ry ben stout and it would pronounce the name correctly. Just a thought.....

Pitcher because that way I can pitch well enough to maintain a lead or at least keep us in the game. When I play SS/CF, it's frustrating when the our SP gives up 2-3 multiple run innings in a row and our guys can't close the deal with RISP.

Center Field, because i wanted to see the crowd behind the batter and see most of the ballpark.
