I lost 3 games to the Reds all coming on walkoff hr's (The Heartbreak Loss Thread)

DISCLAIMER:: Please don't turn this into a thread that deals with comeback AI, cpu boosts, cheating, Rubber Band AI, or anything of the sort. Thank You.

Yes, you read that right. I lost 3 of a 4 games series with the Reds where all 3 losses were lost in the last AB by a walkoff homerun by the Reds.

Game 1: I was up 2-0 in the 9th. Rosenthal struck out Hamilton on 4 pitches. I hit Phillips on a 1-2 pitch, walked Votto when I got behind (he was 2-2 with a walk) and took my chances with Frazier who had been struggling. First pitch is supposed to be a fastball down and in to see if I could use aggression against him, but it missed and was up a bit and he planted it 400 some odd feet into the left field bleachers to give the Reds a 3-2 walkoff win.

Game 2: We are tied 1-1 going into the 11th inning, when Jay Bruce takes a 2-2 hanging slider by Belisle and puts it just over the fence in right for a walkoff 2-1 win.

Game 4: After Heyward hit a 3 run bomb in the top of the 9th to complete a 7 run comeback in the last 6 outs (trailed 9-2 going into the 8th) and tied the game at 9-9 going to the bottom of the 9th, Randy Choate was on to face Joey Votto who proceeded to hit the very first pitch of the bottom of the 9th to dead center for a walkoff 10-9 win.

At least I won game 3, 14-2. I can hang my hat on that.

So what are some of your heartbreak losses? Please share, I need to feel better about myself.

I was up 8-0 I believe on l the Marlins only to fall apart and lose 10-9. My bullpen is much like the real Braves and is walk crazy. Fortunately I've ma d e trades recently to strengthen it and am sitting in 1st at 30-23 or somewhere around there.

I wasn't even mad though. Every mistake I made was punished and my pitchers were all tired and I knew it would affect them.

Lost 2 of my first 3 games of the season in my Rockies franchise (at Milwaukee) on walk-off homeruns after battling back in both of those games to either tie/take the lead in the top of the 9th inning.

Was perfect with Tanaka thru 8.1 at Seattle leading 1-0. HBP Logan Morrison, next guy up is Cano, first pitch gone, I was dumbfounded.

I lost a game to the Phillies today in 18 innings 6-5. It killed my bullpen and starters. It was especially rough because my team (Pirates) lost the previous two games in the bottom of the 9th...one on a homer by Ben Revere! The other game was won by a double by Revere, too. He went 5 for 5 in that one.

I had to open my series against the Cubs with practically my whole bench in the starting lineup. Lol.

I was in the process of a 5 game losing streak where I had only been scoring 2-3 runs a game. I was heading into the 9th with a 4-1 lead and excited that I may be pulling out of the funk. My bullpen gave up 5 runs in the top 9.

Back to the drawing board. (update: I ended up winning my next game to get out of the rut)

was taking on the Baltimore last night with my Jays, managed to take a 5-0 lead in the second, but couldn't produce anymore. they scratched out a couple 1-2 run innings to force extras.
my bullpen was used up fairly quickly so I had to stick with Castro a lot longer then I had hoped, two out in the bottom of 14 they hit a walk off, I was quite sad.
nothing hurts more then playing that long of a game just to lose

CB I feel your pain. The Reds have had my number all season. I would have to go back and actually count but I don't think I won a series against them. The just beat me up all year long.

Yeah, whats cool is they were the doormat of the Central until around August and they've literally caught fire and are now leading the Wildcard by 2 games over the Pirates and trail the Brewers by 4 games with 8 to play.

Just lost game 7 to the Nationals in the 2021 NLCS with my Cubbies. Lost 5-1. The guy that pitched for the Nationals had a cutter that I just couldn't square up. My only run came on a Bryant HR in the 9th. Had some funky stuff happen for them to score a couple of runs, too.

Just a frustrating game all around. I lost McCutchen for the game in the 1st inning when he was thrown out at the plate on a single. He broke his shin on a headfirst slide...

This was my first trip to the NLCS in my 6 year franchise so far. Heart breaking to lose in game 7 at home, after having the best record in the NL during the season.

Man that hurts. You invest all that time and energy to get to the playoffs, then to the NLCS and then to a Game 7 only to see it all disappear.

First year playing all 162 games, only to lose it in the NLDS. Haha I wish I could have gotten it to the next series but jeez, the other team was smashing it.

It was my fantasy Cubs vs. the fantasy Mets, led by Giancarlo Stanton, and this guy singlehandedly manhandled my pitchers.

Here's mine. Was 8 4 down coming into the 9th. Came back to tie 8 8 with a jayson werth rbi but he got out trying for 2nd. Game tied until the 12th when the phillies scored a double walk off hr. Absolutely gutted!

Ugh. So yesterday I was playing the Marlins in year 2 of a franchise with the Orioles (simmed year 1). I simmed the first week and it didn't go well. Opened the season 0-5 before beating the Red Sox. Anyway, I'm winning the home opener 4-0 against the 6-0 Marlins. Bring it Britton because he hadn't pitched yet that season. To tell you the truth, I don't remember what happened. But before I knew it it was 6-4 and I lost! I know I misplayed a fly ball with jones that led to the tying run though. Just was zoning out.

The next game I win 2-1 in dramatic fashion but the game crashed before it saved

I was in extra innings in a spring training game and I was up 3-1 against the Royals going into the bottom of the 11th. Brought in my closer got 2 easy outs then gave up a double and proceeded to walk 3 straight batters (Using quick counts). Alex Rios comes up on a 1-2 count and rips a double into the corner and I lose 4-3. Tough loss, but not sweating it. It was a spring training game anyways.
