I just made a trade with the Yankees in my franchise with the Royals. I sent Omar Infante for Adam Warren and Andrew Bailey. The Yankees didn't call anyone up and put Andrew Miller in the second spot in the rotation. this happen every time you trade for a starting pitcher? If I traded for Andrew Cashner are the Padres going to start Craig Kimbrel? Is the opposing team always going to start their best rated reliever instead of calling up a starter from the minors?

Not always, but it does happen.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Relievers being put into the rotation has been a bug for a couple of years now. I think it occurs when there is an injury and for some odd reason the CPU puts a reliever in instead of another starting pitcher, whom sits in the bullpen. I played a game started by Sergio Romo. It happens, you either have to live with it or control all 30 teams. One thing that annoys me is when you play a 3 games series and the lineup is drastically different every time.Comment

The problem is the cpu 40-man roster management and callups in general. The cpu is loathe to aggressively manage their roster and will often go long stretches with no changes to their 40-man roster. Another symptom of this problem is a rule 5 draft overloaded with young, talented prospects.
As is the case with everything else you don't want to see, 30-team control is the only sure solution. Calling up a SP for a cpu team that trades you their SP once in a blue moon doesn't really put you out that much. Basically the only way to play MLBTS is to use 30 team control, as the AI is too just too stupid with everything from trades to lineups and rotations. Actually its this way in all sports games and imo the only way to play any of them is to use all team control. The good thing is about MLBTS is you can make a 2nd profile and use it for all teams you don't want to control, and set anything you want to auto for those teams, then you can take care of any issues with lineups/rotations, as well as follow trade rumors to keep stupid trades from happening.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Often when I'm facing a scheduled SP with awful stats, the CPU subs in a reliever at the starting lineups screen. I wouldn't be bothered if the reliever was a longman or spot starter, but its usually a regular 1-2 IP reliever.Comment

With 30 team control is there a way to just see your team in the menus like with 1 team control? Or do you have to find your teams game every time? Sorry I'm kind of new to 30 team control, and want to use it but am kind of turned off by this aspect because it doesn't really feel like I'm in charge of just my team.

Your team won't until you go to that team screen and save on that screen.
Even with everything to AUTO....the game still thinks you're "controlling" all 30 teams.
....and to the OP....
This is my biggest beef with the game by far...and the last reason I really use 30 team control.
I basically check the rotation screens every few days and move pitchers around if need be.
I've stated it in other threads about this....hopefully they work on this.
I wouldn't mind relievers being put into the rotation(ala Josh Collementer for Arizona this year)....as long as they put a mechanism in to increase the stamina to a decent number or put something in to block pitchers without at least a 55 stamina rating into the rotation.
