Re: I scored 3 runs with 2 outs in the 9th to win 8-7! The Comeback Thread

Played a crazy game the other day. Had Jake Arrieta on the mound against the Pirates. He cruised through 7 innings, only allowing 3 baserunners. I had a 4-0 lead and Arrieta gave up 2 in the 8th. Took a 4-2 lead into the top of the 9th and didn't have my closer available, so I put Yoervis Medina out there. Medina had been outstanding up to this point. He promptly gave up a single, double, 3 run HR to blow the save and give Pittsburgh a 5-4 lead.

Bottom of the 9th comes and Anthony Rizzo leads off with a single to bring up Kris Bryant. Bryant destroys a 1-1 fastball for the walk-off HR to salvage the victory.

Down 4-0 to Kershaw? No problem. The Show Live Game, HOF Zone Batting. Watch for what Kershaw does after the big hit

(This is an 8 minute video, it'll take some time to fully upload, but I thought showing the full inning would be the best way)

Lots of stuff going on here that won't be clear from the video. With Wada getting knocked around for 4 early I was considering the pen, and his potential AB actually influenced my AB with Ross as well (I swung at a few pitches I wouldn't have otherwise to avoid a pitcher batting, double-play situation). Fortunately it worked out because Kershaw was VERY wild in this inning.

This inning is a very good example of how you have to bat on HOF to be successful - patience is of utmost importance because the CPU WILL walk you, but when it comes over the plate you have to be ready to swing no matter the count.

Final was 10-7 as the CPU made it interesting (mostly due to some aggressive pitching on my part not wanting to walk people with a large lead), but once I had to bear down the good pitches came and the W soon after.

How many times would you hit reset or just plain quit? Ah, what a wonderful game this can be.

Before closing out the last game of the month of May, a meaningful game against the Marlins occurred. Zack Wheeler starting pitcher who hasn't yet earned a victory in this year's campaign with a record of 0-5, has been struggling. In fact, he's been "awful. Facing Stanton with runners on 1st and 2nd, and no-body out doesn't sound so good. Stanton is having one of those MVP starts and leading in almost all categories. He, and a stingy Miami pitching staff has put the Marlins up by 5 games over 2nd place Atlanta going into June. Damn!!!! Number 15! No need to tell you how far it went. So 6 runs down, going into the bottom of the 3rd seems daunting doesn't it? Especially with a bad hitting team like the Mets.

The rest, I leave in "Countryboys Comebacks of the Year Awards" for 2015.

I recently had back to back walk off wins over the Houston Astros, and their closer Chad Qualls. Both home runs were hit by the same player (Myself, created player).

The first game (May 23) went extra innings. In the top if the 11th, George Springer hit a home run to put the Astros up 4-3. In the bottom of the 11th, Kyle Dutcher (myself) hit a game winning 2 run walk off home run, for a 5-4 win.

In the second game, I again trailed in the bottom of the 9th inning, 5-4. In the previous two innings, I had grounded out twice with the tying run in scoring position, the second one a double play. Houston brought Chad Qualls in for the save, one day after allowing a walk off home run.

Anthony Gose tied the game with an RBI single, to make it 5-5. Ian Kinsler walked to re-load the bases, which brought Dutcher up. He smacked a game winning Grand Salami to right field, for a 9-5 win.

It's rare to get a walk off home run. Even more rare to get two by the same player in the same year. I got two by the same player in back to back games. Unbelievable
