I am using quick counts. It helps and hurts. Obviously as a "free swinger" it hurts as I sometimes only have 1 swing and a miss before an out. But the plus side I can actually walk once in a while too. The team batting avg (i am at work now not sure what it is exactly) is pretty realistic too. I also understand how a lot don't really like this feature. But it works for me with work, family etc.

Been playing all 162 since MLB 2K10, and let me tell you, QC has been a Godsend.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

For those of you that have played all 162 before Y2Y saves, how did you treat your franchises? Did you sell everybody in the hopes of winning it all in your first or (if you made it that far) 2nd season? I have a hard time justifying franchise mode if you're gonna play all 162 without QC.

          I play 1 game every 3 game series, 2 in a 4 game series. I just don't have the patience to play 162 I'm a realist haha.

I play full games. I'm personally not a fan of quick counts.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Trying to play all 162 and then moving the save to next years game. I'm 45-45 with the Cubs. It has been fun and I have never got close to finishing 162. The best I ever did was just over a 100 games on an old Triple Play Baseball PS1. So far so good, hoping to wrap up before Madden drops.

For me I play every inning of every game, no quick counts. I'm at the end of July in 2016 (season 3) of my carryover franchise. First year I made mostly real life trades, Samardzija-Russell, etc. Since then I've made my own moves. I try to balance between win now moves and continuing to build on my foundation. I finished 106-56 in year 2 and am currently 15 games over this season.

Re: Playing every game in Franchise

I'm truly torn on how I want to play my season. Prior to quick counts, I used to play the first and last game of every series (so, basically 2 out of every 3). However, lack of walks (both batting & pitching) was always an issue when looking at season stats and rankings. With quick counts, the walks are there. However, it gets a tad old when I'm down by 1 run. Have the meat of my order coming up, and get hit with 0-2, 1-2, & 0-2 counts. I just can't decide how I want to play my season/franchise.

It's tough when that happens but it isn't an absolute that it will. I play them all with QC's and I've still been able to generate comebacks against tough counts. I've also come up with favorable counts in those situations as well.

"quick counts" just isn't baseball to me. Especially with the CPU not throwing a ton of strikes, it seems off. Before y2y saves, I would play a full season, but with an eye on the future as well. Then after the season, I would sim 7 years or so and play again. It'd be too easy to trade every prospect you have to stack your team. I try to always build for the future, even if I'm not planning on playing more, just to keep it realistic.

It's just personal preference. If it's not baseball to you: cool.

I want to play more games. I don't want to sim.

I played 30 games (no simming) no QC, and I just simmed 5 games and I feel lost. Like I missed out on what happened, making decisions, things like that. I will not sim another game. I will just find time to make it as far as I can. With the carryover option, I may just keep playing it. I truely hate simming. Just confirmed lol.
