Just had it happen again. 2 outs man on first 3-2 count runner took off on the pitch.
Auto fielding manual throwing. Ball hit deep in the hole between third and short. Brandon Crawford backhands it...jump throw.....to 1B way off the bag.

Who was up to bat? Just trying to eliminate as many variables as possible.
On a positive note: I was able to reproduce the issue with the dropped infield pop up.
But...I doubt it is the same issue (although similar result) as the hits deep to the SS."Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"Comment

My video looks very similiar to yours. 3B is highlighted but control is switched to SS.

Not my video but I just had the exact same thing happen to me
I see this fielding bug happen at random times and I just can't stand it!

Thanks Nemesis. I just had this happen to me at second base. Man on 1st, 1 out. Ball is hit to third, 3B throws to second to start the double. Throw beats the runner easily. The 2B finishes the play throwing on to 1st. Gregory Polanco was hitting and he beat the throw to first. I notice when my pitcher is back on the mound that my 1st baseman isn't holding the runner and Marte is on second. I checked out the replay and my 2B stopped way short of the bag. All the animations were spot on for the double play but the fielder wasn't even close to the bag so the runner was safe.Comment

I've seen it, but I've only seen it on plays that would have been hits anyway. Specifically, I'd say about 80-90% of the time that I've seen it, it was on a ball hit to the OF, where I threw it to first on the off chance I got the out.
I remember a few years ago those types of outs were consistently achievable, and I think the 1B was forced off the bag on those instances as a quick fix.
I'm not saying that is the entirety of the issue, since it sounds like it's also costing you guys "real" plays... just figured I would throw this stuff out there.Comment

Just for a record these are some related and not-so-related AI fielding decision issues that I've observed in MLB 15. Just posting in case this might be useful.
