Stealing

Every time I have guys on 1st and 3rd and try to steal 2nd, both guys go and I am tagged out at home. I hold L2 (I think, I'm new to PS4, I'm an xbox 1 user mostly) and move the stick to the right like it says for the guy on 1st base. I let go and both guys take off. Help, please!

Make sure you push the stick to towards the base before and while pressing the button. So if you are queuing the steal push the stick towards first and hold it there. Then press L2. Once you press L2 you can let go of the stick.

As a first time "The Show" player, I'm confused. To steal, I hold the stick to the right and then hold down L2. When the pitcher starts his windup I let go of both. Is that not right? What do you mean "queue" the steal? Can I queue it, so that the runner takes off on his own when the pitcher starts his windup?

Yes. To do that you just press L2 and let go immediately. The player will then take off in his own. His ratings will effect how fast he reacts to the pitcher starting his windup.

wow, this might be a life saver. I have a handful of guys that can steal but I sometimes get terrible jumps. Last question: If I move the left stick towards first and click L2 and let go of both, will he take off, or is that queuing just him to steal? Thanks a bunch!

It would queue just the guy on 1st (or which ever base you moved the stick towards) to steal.

No problem. Base running seems to be the hardest thing for people to get used to. Even some people that have played for years have issues. They should have a better explanation for it in game.

This is sort of unrelated, but when runners are on 1st and 3rd has anyone tried to steal a run?

To add on to this if you hold down L2 you are setting up the runner to steal when you let go. I use this when I am really desperate to move the runner over and I have a moderate to good base runner. This way you control when he jumps ( when you let of of L2 ) and maybe get an early jump.

I haven't. Heard people say the CPU will send the guy on 1st then have the guy on 3rd take home on a delayed steal.

Thanks to you guys! I played 4 games last night/this morning and Mookie Betts, Rusney Castillo, and Jordan Schaefer (trade) stole a total of 8 bases (5 for Mookie, 1 for Rusney, 2 for Schaefer). I love the Red Sox, but I try to steal and sacrifice more like an NL team. This was hard to do, while getting thrown out 50% of the time! Thanks again!
