    PCI - Wedge

Is the wedge PCI icon purely cosmetic? Here's the assumption I was playing under...

Inside pitches are harder to hit/lower contact but have more power.

Outside pitches will allow better contact but less power.

Pitches down the middle are a mix of contact and power

The PCI wedge has the narrow part to the inside and it gets wider as you move to the outer half of the plate, but the other PCI views don't have this as they are visually even inside and out. Is this a visual representation of the balance between contact and power?

With this in mind, if you are ahead in the count and expecting a fastball down the middle is it appropriate to set the PCI a bit to the outside to get more power in your swing (using analog zone hitting)

    It is only cosmetic.

I've wondered the same thing. It seems like some players wedges are more extreme than others.

I wonder why they would set it up that way...

The PCI is the same between the different display options, wedge, outline, etc. That is what nomo was stating.

But a player's ratings affect the PCI size/shape. It is a combination of the pitcher and hitter's ratings. Change a player to 99 con, 0 pow and then 0 con, 99 pow and see the difference. Then change vision from 0 to 99 and pitcher's k/9 from 0 to 99.
