First baseman circles first with ball but doesn't touch base.

Here's the scenario. Man on 1rst, 2 outs. Ground ball to 1rst baseman, I hit the first base button after he has the ball and he trots around the base and the runner is safe. Next batter is a 3 run HR! What?

I didn't see this as the other thread about the first baseman not covering first. I have never seen this before. I'm curious if anyone else has seen anything like this before. I have a video of it but a text scenario is good enough for this one.

Hold the button to make him run to the bag.

For months now I have just hit the base button and the first baseman goes right to it. I will try holding it from now on.

Yea I've never had an issue just tapping the button. Not sure what's going on here.

I just played another game and I had 3 grounders to 1B. Twice I tapped and once I held and all 3 had the same result. The fielder ran to the bag and touched it for the out. Maybe I just came upon a hiccup in the game at that moment. It's just something I hadn't seen before.

Unless you see it happen multiple times, or can replicate it, you should probably just treat it as a hiccup. I've seen a lot of weird things happen in regards to player animations on the field, but the majority of them are one-off occurrences.

I've actually experienced this today, myself, though. 1B was reaching for a sharp drive in fair play close to the foul line and momentum took him in foul territory. Animations took over after he turned around to run to the base, and he glitched over the bag and stood there while the runner kept running and was called safe. First I'd seen it happen as well. It has nothing to do with tap speed or pressure
