This is by no means a criticism of SCEA I am just curious, why doesn't SCEA add real life pictures for rookies such as Kris Bryant and Carlos Correa?

From my understanding is SCEA do the pics in spring training so they may not have the pics available.

This is probably ignorance on my part, but can't the just use a picture from the team's website or from mlb.com?

Probably not. Im not 100% on this but there could be cost, rights issues and nothing is as simple as saying "Hey MLB, I have a baseball game here, give me access to your media..thanks" It may be tied to the MLBPA agreement.

It could be a situation where they feel people would be less likely to buy the next version of the game if all the promising young guys were updated.

If I remember correctly it has to do with the size of data associated with the players now. They used to updated portraits throughout the year when players were traded, etc. but I believe Russell or someone said that with the amount of data that is attached to a player now with custom equipment and everything that the roster files would be really big.

I just wish they would update Brian McCann, and Andrew Miller's pictures. Miller looking like the newest member of ZZ Top wearing the pinstripes just doesn't look right. Although it is his first year with the Yankees, so I can kind of understand. But McCann is in his second year, no excuse for him still having a beard in his. But it's a minor little thing. I can over look it.
