    Franchise Mode Questions

I've read threads upon threads and im just trying to put everything together so I can either purchase a PS4 and the Show or not.

    Is Franchise Mode broken?

Are the draft classes really that bad?

    How is the player regression/progression?

The stats problem I've read a good deal about.

    Free Agency signings problematic?

Any unusual glitches that kill realism?

All in all, is the Franchise Mode currently in the Show enough to warrant a purchase? I don't play The Show online much so I am wondering if I will be able to get lost in the franchise mode? I am diehard simulation gamer.

      -No
-The draft classes can be bad because you can get tons of B potential prospects
      -Player/Progression is okay
-The stats problem isn't really that big of a deal to me
      -Free Agent Signings aren't problematic
      -No glitches I know of

You should have fun while playing this game as this is the only baseball game available on the market.

        -No. Very few major issues.
-Yes and No. It all depends how well you draft. In my opinion the Scouting/Drafting system has it's flaws and needs a dramatic overhaul. There was a thread where myself and a couple people posted our draft classes. Go through the thread and tell me what you think.

-Progression and Regression is still not fixed. The 'new' Preformance-Based Player Progression does not work. There have been multiple threads on it, but I'll copy and paste two of them for you. Feel free to find more of them though.

-As far as the 'stats problem' (I think you're referring to stat tracking) it's still there. There's not really any stat tracking aside from a few things.

-Kind of. A lot of free agents ask for two much money during the season. Guys with 70-75 overall are asking for 2 million plus and it gets annoying when you have to fill the minors with worse players. I understand them asking that kind of money in the offseason, but during the season they should go for the minimum just to get on a team. I think incentives would be a good addition for future MLB games.....hint, hint.

-Nothing too out of the ordinary. Sometimes when there's a ground ball to my second baseman he runs across the ball without picking it up. IDK if you would consider that a glitch.

Franchise mode is the same exact thing has last year. The radio show is the only difference I notice which adds nothing to me. The glitches occur the same has the other modes. Maybe the layout is different but the mode is the exact same. The same stats are recorded, the progression/regression is the same, the free agency/retirement problems are still there, good luck figuring out scouting and the draft. I will add one you forgot to mention, the dumb trade logic is still there too. There is also a new one where your starting pitchers stamina does not regenerate in the playoffs so they are always tired when it is their turn to pitch in the postseason.

In conclusion not broken if you liked last years and do not care about your rotation being completely messed up in the postseason. Would not recommend buying if you were expecting something new or fixed.

            Re: Franchise Mode Questions

Broken? IMHO, no, I think that its playable and quite enjoyable for me personally. I find it better than Madden's franchise mode at least. That being said, franchise does need a huge overhaul IMHO and I might start a post about why in the future.

Draft Classes-I think the main problem is that starting pitcher potentials are way too high, so I manually edit that. The system is really wonky, but personally I find it workable.

Player Regression/Progression-People will disagree with me on this, but I personally love it. Just because a player's rating goes down doesn't mean their performance will go down. In my franchise 36 year old Cliff Lee has regressed to a low 70, but he still lead the league in ERA. It makes sense that older players will lose some physical attributes as they get older. Overall honestly isn't that important; I've seem high 90's players hit like 0.230 AVG. In baseball stats are what matters, and for older players they still have a chance of putting up great stats.

Free Agency-In my franchise without 30 team control it worked out great. Top players take mega contracts, older players on the decline will take short contracts, etc. No problems whatsoever.

Unusual glitches-I haven't encountered too many. The biggest one I've encountered is that when I had a position player on the mound, it showed some really weird pitching stats(such as 5-99 40.31ERA and stuff like that). The only other thing I can recount off the top of my head is that in my radio show the host said the wrong name of the winning pitcher.

Overall, I don't know if franchise mode warrants a purchase in your situation or not, because I don't know how big of a factor money is for you, what other games you have, etc. I'll just say that I personally spent $60 to buy the game mainly for franchise mode(I've played a bit RTTS, will play some DD I think), and I've felt that it has been money well spent for my own situation considering my other options with the $60. While I do think that franchise needs a huge overhaul in the future, the game is still really enjoyable for me personally.

They made it where you could edit players attributes if its starting to get out of hand just dont get too carry off with it make it realistic as to how they had thier season
