        Same here.

For me it's mostly (like 90%) normal swing. Maybe for pitchers do I use contact, since I figure pitchers are mostly trying to just put it in play and pray.

Otherwise, if a guy has power, why do I need a power swing? If he doesn't have power, why am I trying to swing for the fences with him?

Same for contact - if I have a strikeout prone guy, that's what I have. Chris Davis probably doesn't "contact swing" much. Likewise for Stanton. And if I have a contact guy - like Yelich or Solano - I don't need contact swing - he's already a "put it in play" type.

I only use power because I look at it differently, I am trying to hit hard line drives and ground balls not weak ones. Power does not mean just swinging for the fences. If Dee Gordon powers up a ground ball it is more likely to past an infielder and its is more likely his line drives will go further giving him more bases.

I agree with this. I dont use power swing all the time like you, but all power swing does is increase bat speed at the expense of a smaller pci than a normal swing. I may experiment a bit with using the power swing more in my next series, but no go all gung-ho with it.

It's interesting to read the different approaches. There are many with a logical justification - including not using it at all.

For mine, I've found the Power Swing turns potential long-fly ball outs into homers and ground-outs into base hits. I am indiscriminate with who I use it with - whether it's Stanton or Dee Gordon. If the count is in my favour and I'm able to guess the right location, I power swing.

In my opinion, there's nothing more satisfying in video games at the moment than hitting a power swing HR with Stanton or another power hitter. The sound it makes...
