    Franchise mode question

I've read that if you play 8+ years into franchise mode that pitchers rule the roost so to speak and that the stats get very wonky. This has caused me to have some trepidation about starting a long term franchise.

My question is, will these problems still persist if I only get 5 or 6 years into the future? I'd try editing CPU generated pitchers to remedy the above problem, but idk where to even begin.

Yes, the issue starts in about 2-3 years. I simmed to 2020 with the Red Sox, all teams had a handful of guys were were high 90s and threw 102 MPH with nasty offspeed stuff as well. The problem is, there are a ton of pitchers in each draft with 99 potential. Well, in 2-3 years, there are 99 overall pitchers who are 24 years old on every single team.

Have to agree and disagree. Maybe if you sim ---from what I have read---you do get those kinds of players. But I am playing even game with a carry over league, in my 3rd year I do not see the 99 potential players starting to pop up. Maybe in the next couple of years, but not in year 3. On my team I have 93, 90, 88, 87, 81 for my starters.. Yes, there are a couple of players in the high 90's on other teams, but that doesn't mean they are dominate players as far as stats go.

I guess it depends on how you play the game. Seems like a lot of problems, going on with the sim folks that far in. I wonder if anyone has did a test simming maybe a week at a time. Then adjust training, scouting, etc, then see if the same results happen vs just dimming the entire season. Just a thought.

What is interesting about this topic is the people who were lobbying hard for changes to progression and got their wish - where are they now? Did they forget their username and password?

Anyone know if scea is looking into the pitcher issue to patch? Sort of makes it pointless to buy this game if a franchise 5 years out starts to get crazy. Also I hear the scouting mechanic is broken. Any validity to this? I like to play franchises over decades building teams. Play a little, sim a lot so a game that gets weird after 5 years has no appeal for me.

No word on whether there will be a patch or what it will contain if it happens but if I was betting I'd bet against it getting fixed.
