Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
I usually play 2-4 games just to get a feel on the starters and bullpen. Thats just me honestly. -
Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
I play all or almost all of my Spring training games, but since switching this yr to the PS4 not sure how many Spring Training games I will end up playing, since there is just 1 spring training park per league. Been waiting on a roster or I would have done been into the season by now. I am hoping next yr they have upgraded Spring Training and added more ballparks, as I know Im in the minority but I enjoy playing those games, and IRL I actually enjoy Spring Training, out of all the preseasons for sports, baseball is definitely the most exciting for me, and the only one that I pay close attention to and watch as much as possible.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
I usually sim like a week at a time. Every week I demote 4-6 guys who struggled and/or have no shot of making the team. Then I play the last game with my set 25-man roster.Comment

Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
I sim and play. Prospects I tend to use to analyze where they're at. I want to use potential rookie pitchers so I can make decisions on where to place them. I'm in season 3, about to enter season 4 and having a blast in the team building and spring training battle processes.5Comment

Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
Depends on what kind of position battles i have going. Usually have a few starters that will fight for the 5th/LR roles. And a 4 or 5 guys fighting for a backup role. I sim 5 games at a time and change the rotation / lineup between each sim so i can get an even number of starts for everyone that is fighting for a job. There are usually 2 or 3 games left at the end and i just put in my backups as much as possible before picking who stays based off stats.Comment

Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
I play every game of ST. Sometimes there are position battles that I want to settle. Also, gives me a feel for my pitching staff. I also like that I can get a feel for the guys that I'll most likely be calling up during the season in case of injury or poor performance.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
I usually set my lineups and rotation with all the young guys/bench players on my roster. Already established players and pitchers are on the bench or bullpen. That way all the guys I'm not sure about get the most playing time. Then with about a week left I look at the numbers and start sending guys down. Then I start the last few games with my expected opening day lineup.Comment

Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
Shouldnt the first year of franchise (or yearly) they just offer the option of playing/simming Spring Training, or skipping Spring Training completely and starting with the regular season? Seems like this could be quite helpful.Comment

Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
You can already do that. When in franchise mode. Go to the home screen. Go down to the calendar box and press square.Comment

Re: How do you handle Spring Training?
Question - If I press square to "End Spring Training" as described will there still be injuries, adjusted lineups, etc.? Or, will it leave everything as previously set-up (batting orders, etc). If it doesn't change anything this is awesome!Comment
