Player Comes Off DL in Postseason, But Can't Use Him?

    Getting right to it:

Rougned Odor was injured during the season. He came off the DL during the ALCS. Yes, he is "Playoff eligible" (he was on the DL as of September 1). I should be able to add him to my playoff roster after the ALCS and before the World Series.

However, When I highlight him in Roster Management, I only have the option to "REMOVE FROM PLAYOFF ROSTER." OK, so he's already on my playoff roster. When I choose Remove From Playoff Roster, I get a message saying "Rougned Odor is currently on the disabled list." He is not on the disabled list. He doesn't show up on the DL screen and there's no DL icon next to his name in Roster Management. He also doesn't show up in my lineup screen.

Rougned Odor now cannot be used at all in the postseason.

Am I missing something here, or is this yet another franchise mode bug?

I think it has something to do with him being on the D.L. when the playoffs start, that makes the game "think" he is unable to play in the post season.

What I do, if I have a player on the D.L. that would be healthy before the end of the playoffs, I simply remove them from the D.L. in late September (as rosters are expanded to 40, there is no need to use the D.L. to clear up a roster spot.

You might have to manually remove the injury to get the player off the D.L. (depending on the length of time he was on it), then reinjure him.

If you get any injuries in September, simply don't use the D.L. as it isn't needed.

Just happened to me too. Had a pitcher come off DL and couldn't put him into the rotation - he was MIA from the selection process but not on my DL. Weird.

        Here is the rule:

All other players on a club's MLB Reserve List (40-man roster), MLB 60-day DL, and Restricted List (extended Bereavement, Medical Emergency, or Paternity Leave ONLY) prior to midnight (Eastern) on August 31st are eligible to be included on a post-season Active List (25-man roster), but a player on an MLB club's Disabled List (7-day, 15-day, or 60-day), Bereavement List, Medical Emergency List, or Paternity List is eligible to be included on a post-season Active List only after spending the minimum number of days required to be served by a player on that list.
