Handling USER injuries in offline franchise
I'm looking for some ideas on how to handle my injuries in offline franchise. I play every game and I don't believe injuries happen to USER when playing out games, is that correct? It seems to be the case so far with my franchise and I believe I have read that as well. How do you guys handle the injuries in offline franchise?

Re: Handling USER injuries in offline franchise
You will definitely have injuries happen to your players when you play the games. In one of my games, my left fielder was coming in on a ball, I dove for it and he missed it, the ball hit him right in the face. He ended up getting a concussion and had to go on the DL. -

They can happen, but they have been FAR less frequent for me than for the rest of the league.
As for handling it - if I see an event that could/should have caused an injury, I'll put injuries on manual and randomize an injury for those players (on either team) and then go back to "On" for injuries for simming."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Handling USER injuries in offline franchise
Injuries definitely do happen to the user when they are playing games. Managing your bench well and keeping players rested will help prevent them, but I've still had all sorts of injuries, including broken hands and wrists for batting and basestealing, concussions from fielding, cramps, finger contusions, shoulder strains, abdominal strains, and I've even had a career ending bicep tear, all from franchise mode from games I've actually played. It does happen.
I think you've just been lucky dude. That being said, I would think after playing the show for 6 years and playing 5 full seasons I'd have seen at least 1 starting pitcher go down with a torn elbow ligament, or a player get a torn ACL. Not that I want that. That bicep tear was traumatizing enough.Comment

Re: Handling USER injuries in offline franchise
Injury slider at 8. I do make sure my guys are well rested, and I just got through spring training (playing every game) 3 games into the season so I'm not deep by any means. Thanks for all the input guys, as long as it's pretty even with the CPU controlled teams Im cool with it, I like realism but I have learned to not get too anal about it because it just frustrates me.

I have mine at 10 and it's still infrequent for me, especially compared to the rest of the league."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment
