    Stat Cast

I love it in real life and would love to see it adapted in the show.. in every way possible.. not just for home runs... yes, for you time crunch people you wouldn't want it but for those of us that play out every last second of every game in our franchise i think it would totally kick butt...

anyone else been pondering this since we first saw it on tv on MLB Network...???

    Re: Stat Cast

Really??? no one has a comment on this... are you insane??? this is a major feature of our game so to speak in real life and no one would want it incorporated into the game in the future? wow, just wow...

i guess no one wants expanded replay either for both CPU and User... if so... very sad... i want this game to mirror baseball in every way... if the game takes over 2 hours to play that is ok... why not... this is baseball after all... it is what we live for... at least on my end it is...

      Re: Stat Cast

Could be people aren't familiar with Statcast. I rarely if ever watch mlb tv so I'm clueless as to what you are talking about. I find it funny that MLB is trying to shorten their games and you want it longer.

        Re: Stat Cast

all 30 stadiums were fitted with cameras all around the place to be able to record if you will all sabermetric stat stuff from def to offense to base running etc.

it is really cool say for example a guy makes a great play in the out field it will give you his run speed, route accuracy% if a guy hits a home run it gives you the hit speed, angle actual distance... if call yourself a all in baseball fan and dont have mlb network, and your still watching ESPN to get your baseball fix... you have to do something about that...

you can't call yourself a baseball fan and not have MLBN... seriously...

Relax, man. It has been a day since you posted the thread, and it's not like the game came out yesterday. Might just be me, but I don't generally check these boards every day in the summer.

It would be cool to have Statcast in the game, but it might be too late for 2016, depends on if the devs think it's worth it.

I'd love to have it, because I'm a stats junkie and like all the numbers available to me. Maybe in the next wishlist post, you can post something of this nature, and hope your comment gets noticed.

(By the way, you can be a baseball fan and not get MLBN, some of us can't get it for various reasons, my cable provider - which I use because it's the only one I can actually afford - doesn't have MLBN listed as something they can even provide. In some cases, it's just not feasible, and as big a fan of something you might be, going bankrupt paying for a service just isn't very wise.)

No, but I can call myself a Met fan and get my baseball fix with SNY.

              Re: Stat Cast

The show tracks like 5 career stats and has done so for many years. This would be awesome bbut they need to get simple career at at tracking in first.

That is ignorant. Someone doesnt have to watch what you watch to be a baseball fan.

                    Re: Stat Cast

I think instead of seeing stat cast people would rather see career stats be deeper, at least I would. Stat cast would be way down on my list of things to be added to the game.

                      Re: Stat Cast

guys we had deep stat tracking on pc games (consoles are pcs really) back on Front Page Sports Pro baseball in 94, 96,98. how we have regressed on this is ridiculous.

once again i work at Sony DADC and know that this game is built so to speak on a single sided disc which is only a 25 gig disc. there is a double sided disc which is a 50 gig disc that only a handful if htat of games take advantage of.

your id on the data side of your disc on the inner hub will start with B4ss the ss stands for single sided... DL would mean double sided...

i can't believe that it would cost that much more for a company to use the bigger disc...

as for those of you that say that you dont need to have mlbn to be a baseball fan aren't pure baseball fans, your probably team fans which iw as back in my start with baseball,, then i grew up and evolved into a pure baseball fan.. that can and wll watch and pay attention to any game for any team...

im not one of those fans that my team is out of it so i quit caring, watching or whatever... my team is the A's. our season was over back in April did i stop watching baseball?? heck no... it is my life... it is #1 even my wife knows and understands this...

i know way too many team only fans which call themselves baseball fans but if their team isnt in it or whatever dont want to talk about baseball because they dont care... that isn't a baseball fan... that is a team fan... big difference.

i dont hate any team well the Angels but i dont hate the yankees i actually think every team if their owners actually care about the team they own should want to be the yankees and dodgers.

for those of you that dont have MLBN... your missing out... baseball tonight doesnt have all night coverage of every game going on from 7Pm ET til the final pitch of the last west coast game every day of the season. they dont have over 20 games every month of the season being seen (as long as i your not in said market)

maybe this will help you all understand... Hockey sucks, (have hated it since the Sharks were born and blocked my As broadcast from starting on time... on bay area sports net...

                      Basketball never cared for... blah...

football... once cared for it.. but now... and in recent years... hate it... and everything that it stands for...

if all three of these sports were to vanish from the earth tomorrow i would not shed a tear... in fact i would cheer at the top of my lungs. because each one of these sports... affect the baseball season in one way or the other...

i will continue this later... have to get ready for work.. but dont worry im not done yet..

What are you even trying to get at? Do you want stat cast in the game? Do you want better stat tracking? Or do you want everyone to be the type of "baseball fan" that you want.

                        1. The game is 37 GB. Right there shows the game isnt made on a single layer disk. Not to mention the fact that the disk even says B4DL on it. So you dont know what its built on and you tried to tell someone what it said on the disk without even looking.

                        2. I am a "baseball fan". I buy the show every year. I play with different teams every year. I watch the Opening game of the season and as much of the playoffs as i can. From the 2nd day of the season to the last. I will only seriously watch the Royals. Doesnt make me any less of a fan.

                        3. Thats a valid opinion. I have MLBN. I dont watch it unless the Royals are on it though. Just dont care like i dont care about Sports Center or any of the other ESPN programs. Again it doesnt make me any less of a fan.

                        4. How does Hockey, NBA or Football even matter?

You really seem intent on trying to tell others how to be as good of a "fan" as you.

And i wont even go into baseball being more important than your wife.

I'm more worried about career stat tracking before we venture into those more advanced things. Great idea, though.

                              Re: Stat Cast

It's not just as simple as throwing Statcast or other advanced stats into the game either. They have to take the time and make sure they get the programming right first, and that includes a lot of variables. I can only assume this, though, because admittedly, I don't know much about developing sports games.

I personally would love to see as much authentic stuff added to this game as they can. The more things available, more ways to play. Especially franchise. I'm not even a 'pure' fan of baseball. I only pull for the Braves and come postseason, if the Braves aren't in it, I just pull for the underdogs like the Royals and Rays. On top of that, I hardly ever watch baseball live. Despite this, I still have a deep appreciation for the game that I can attribute most of that to The Show and the fantastic job they did of being very detailed in their approach. So for me, the deeper franchise gets, the happier I'll be.
