    Injuries

    Am I missing something?

I am a champion when it comes to nailing pitchers with line drive balls.

One of my first at bats in The Show, I lined a ball HARD off of Phil Hughes face with Miguel Cabrera. The trainers and manager went out to check up on him, and despite sustaining what looked like a face shattering hit, he comes out to finish pitching the game.

I have looked through the options, and I don't see anything about injuries in there.

So my question is, am I missing something, or what is the deal?

No, you're not really missing anything. The terminators on the mound are a legacy issue that's been plaguing the show for years. Part of the problem though is that it goes hand in hand with another legacy issue: Balls are hitting pitchers far too often. If pitchers did get injured on every line drive they should be injured on, the population of pitchers in my franchise would be halved.

I don't really think there is a solution to this, at least not a good one.

      Re: Injuries

One time out of many I actually did knock a pitcher out. Hit him straight in the face and he went down like he was shot. He was taken out of the game. After the game he was out for a few weeks with a black eye. But it was just once out of like I said many.

You're lucky he didn't run and grab the ball to make the out.

I've knocked one pitcher out...thought I hit the jackpot late in the 2015 when I drilled Kershaw with a Pence line drive....he went to the ground but unfortunately got up.

I actually injured two pitchers in one game. First one I got him in the hand or forearm, cant remember, and the second was in the leg. Both out for the game.

                Re: Injuries

These line drives at pitchers are annoying at best. I've drilled pitcher's in the head and since it was the third out in the inning, pitcher gets up and walks off like normal even though the commentary was going off on how ugly the hit was and all that.

Worst I've seen with this was with my RTTS pitcher:

-first batter of the inning, take a screamer off my RTTS's dome and everything's fine but the runner's on first.
-next batter, throw a pitch up and in and it gets fouled straight back off the backstop...I'm stuck in my "wait for the return throw" stance as the ball comes back off the backstop and rolls right into my RTTS's foot...commentators make mention of being hit by a liner....injury window pops up...out with a broken foot.

                  Now that's what I call a comebacker!

                    Re: Injuries

I think I just had a bassackwards Archie Graham moment with my RTTS SP. First batter of the 2nd inning hits a grounder that hits him near his left ear on the first bounce, he still picked up the ball and threw him out but leaves the game with an injury.

                      Re: Injuries

I cannot even begin to fathom how many RBI's I have lost because the ball bounces off the pitchers body. This issue needs to be fixed next year. It just happens way too often and the pitcher some how never even gets a concussion. One time the ball even hit off the pitcher so hard it stayed in the air long enough for the 3rd baseman to camp under it. Hell he probably had enough time to make a phone call to his mom too. I wish i had taken a video of this but i'm sure it has happened to everybody else too.

                        Re: Injuries

I'm playing with the cubs and lost two guys with same injury. 2nd inning Lester gets a fly out to center for out 1. Leaves game with hand injury. Now it's probably 6th inning now and Soler hits a bomb and he's fine running bases. After he crossed home he grabs is hand and leaves game with same hand injury as Lester....

... Had to be the hard Harbaugh hand also from third base coach.... Think he did it on purpose??? Is he a spy??? .... Gunna fire is ***.....

But seriously, both are out upto two weeks
