    What is More Frustrating?

Obviously everyone would choose to both hit and pitch well, but assuming you're going to fail at one of them, which is worse?

Would you rather be able to hit and score but not get people out? Win/Lose 9-7

    or

Pitch very well and barely be able to score runs? Win/Lose 2-1

Popping up or weakly grounding out with batter after batter really chaps my @#$, but allowing hit after hit while throwing good pitches is pretty tough also.

For me, I think I would rather have the good pitching, and try to scratch out as many runs as I can. Yeah, it's fun to hit long balls, but allowing tons of runs (especially early in a ballgame) puts way too much pressure on batters (and us good folks holding the controller) .

If I'm down five runs early, I find it tougher to hit no matter what difficulty I have the game set to.

I agree with your point that early pressure of giving up runs is frustrating.

But advance to the 9th inning and I haven't hit all day or I haven't pitched well all day but the game is still a one or 2 run game I think I would prefer it to be high scoring but it's a good tough question because getting rocked and giving up 9 runs is a very frustrating thing as well.

I'd rather pitch well & lose than hit well & lose.
If I'm going to lose I at least want it to be a SHORT game.

            Re: What is More Frustrating?

For me it's less about the results and more about the quality.

For example, I've lost games where I've been getting good contact all game, it's just always been at somebody. It's mildly frustrating, but at least I have a positive takeaway (I'm getting good swings and contact). Meanwhile some games my timing as always off, I'm getting constant choppers and pop-outs, and I'm pulling my hair out.

Same goes for pitching. I've had games where I'm hitting my spots and getting good movement, but the batters on the other team are just locked in. I just tip my cap. Meanwhile I've won games where my pitcher was all over the place and throwing plenty of meatballs but is just getting lucky. I hate those games.

To answer your question I'd rather have bad hitting. But I'll take a loss any day as long as it's a "good" loss, where my guys played well in the field and at the plate. And I hate "bad" games, where my guys are all over the place and unfocused, even when I win.

I rather be able to pitch well especially online because the people who swing at every pitch will eventually get rewarded and the people who pitch poorly will get tonked.

I'd rather pitch well knowing that I'm probably just a swing away.

Poor hitting frustrates me more, but I like this post. If my timing is good and I'm seeing the ball well I can stomach an L.

Id rather pitch well since that's how I play. I suck at hitting lol

Pitching well and not hitting grinds my gears to no end. Maybe it's because sometimes that has been what I received as a pitcher in my day. (I've had my days of the other choice as well where my arm didn't show up though).

I'd rather have good pitching and have 2-1 ball games over having 7-9 slugfest so. I like padding stats for position players but realistically it won't happen like that.

                          This one.

Makes me think how I'm going to score/prevent those precious runs, when to pull my starter/reliever who's obviously having good stuff, etc.

Nothing aggravates me in baseball, real, video game, or pen-and-paper more than bad pitching, especially with good pitchers and ESPECIALLY in the bullpen.

I will say that if my poor offense is due to stuff like it, it makes me crazy.

I'm hitting line drives and well-hit flyballs and sharp grounders and getting nothing. I'd rather be fooled, off-balanced, etc because at least either the pitcher is just on that day or I'm off (or both).

But if he's throwing crap and I'm nailing that crap and getting nothing for it. OMG.
