So I started a RTTS SS and every now and then when I go to turn a DP the animation will get weird and my SS will act like he is going to the bag except he is 10 feet away from it. I remember this being in previous games, has anyone figured out a way to avoid it??? Like a certain path to 2nd base or something?

I've seen it a couple times, my first thought was that it was a poor animation that was attempting to reflect a bad throw to start the double play. Either that, or it happens when you take a bad angle and the animation kicks in before you can change direction and head to the bag. So the normal animation plays out, even though you weren't going the right direction to hit 2nd base.Comment

The game really chugs when it happens so makes me wonder what is going on. I don't really know how to make a video and share it. I am sure it will happen again. It happened a lot more on last years game. Of course I haven't seen it one time in my franchise. Seems to be RTTS only. Then again I autofield my franchise.
Last year my guy would go way behind the bag every time. This time the animation took me in front and and well short of the bag. I got the out at first. Just annoying. I think the animation kicked in before I was close enough to the bag. Not sure I could do anything different. I was trying to get to the bag as fast as I could.
I am currently not through my first season, but, I got called up from AA straight to the majors after only 45 games and the A's move me all over so I don't play SS every game.
Now that I think about it, this might have been one of the times I couldn't move my SS in for the dp. Didn't happen at all in the minors, but, has been happening more frequently in the majors.Comment

I'm on 2018 with my shortstop. For my first few seasons, I was seeing this a LOT. I couldn't tell you the last time I've seen it though. I think it's decline might be due to my speed now, which is above 100 after equipment bonus. I can now get to 2nd quicker before the ridiculous slow-mo animation and floating throw off the bag from the 1st baseman.

I just had it happen last night again. It was definitely when I wasn't able to move in to dp depth before the play. The animation triggers too soon and I lost the dp. Sucks too because it was late game and we needed the outs!
This has been going on for a couple years. Has anyone heard of a fix or why it happens??
It is happening pretty often now.
