    Skills for Fielding

There's some great athletes in the MLB and you can see that on defensive highlights, but not in The Show. Some players are better at making certain plays then others. Maybe is time to add skills, which would open new animations. Some of the skills could be for robbing home runs, diving catch, jumping catch, robbing foul balls, making a catch while sprinting, charging a ball, bare hand catch, throwing from your knees, throwing on the run, flashy throw and flashy catch. A skill for catcher's that would help boost the pitcher confidence.

    Re: Signature Skills

I think it's kind of hard to do that in baseball. No one has any signature skill for diving for the ball or robbing homeruns. Everyone kind of looks the same when they do those things. It's not like Mike Trout does anything special when he robs a homerun, he just goes and gets it.

Yep. That catch Kevin Kiermaier made in Baltimore was a 95% match to the one that Trout made a couple of years ago.

I feel like every play looks too basic, and some players are better at making certain plays then others. Mike Trout robbing a homerun is something special, he has crazy hops.

There's flashy players both in the outfield and infield why not give them a signature skill.

What makes these plays different? Besides Kiermaier going straight up and Trout going sideways. And obviously positioning.

What's the point of the videos? You won't see either of does play in The Show.

While your post does clarify that you want new levels of animations that only some players can access(the game already has this....as there are "gold" animations for some players....they just aren't used enough and I don't know if they are totally locked out from some players)....you use the word "signature" in the title and that might be confusing as that is usually associated with INDIVIDUAL players....and then you mentioned Trout in particular....that's perhaps where confusion set in...and the videos showing that the robbing of the HR is similar between more than just one player.

Ok I see now, sorry for the confusion. I only mentioned Trout because someone brought it up but I get it.

I would like to see it though.....allowing some sort of modifier ...perhaps for athleticism .....that gives only players possessing it the chance to make a certain level of plays and perhaps even let a player with it to make the more difficult plays look more common.

I do - an "athleticism" rating or such would be nice.

I also think it could be an expression of range (considering these plays often extend the areas of the field where balls turn into outs). For example, the difference between 70 Reaction + Fielding and 90 Reaction + Fielding is success on these kinds of plays.

I think something could be done and would like to see it if possible!
