    Secondary positions

If a player plays a position that isn't one of their secondary positions long enough, will the game add it to them? I noticed the other day that a minor leaguer on my roster that was a 3b only but I was using at first due to some injuries and a lack of depth had 1b as his secondary. And I can't remember if I edited him or not.

If not, and I changed it myself one night and don't remember, wouldn't that be a nice thing to add to the game in the future? Spend spring training with some prospect who is buried on your depth chart playing LF or something and when the season starts LF is now one of his secondary positions?

    Re: Secondary positions

I'm 99.9% sure it does NOT change it. I actually had that thought too a while back. It would definitely make for a really nice touch

      Re: Secondary positions

Or maybe have players with different ratings for different secondary positions. I'm sure there's a formula for what a player's fielding rating drops when not at his primary position. But what about something that differentiates how comfortable he is at each secondary?

Like Mark Trumbo when he was an Angel. He was a pretty good first baseman. But when they got Pujols they tried him at 3rd and he kinda failed miserably. But then basically became a below average LF by this point in his career. So have his fielding rating at LF, and something that shows here's more comfortable at first and waaay less capable at third. Instead of one rating that says he's equally poor at all of them.
