Question about carrying over a franchise

What happens if you have a player that retires between game releases?

Say for example I have Randy Choate on my MLB 15 roster, which I then carry over to MLB 16. What would happen if he were to retire after 2015? Would he remain in the game? Or be removed?

More than likely it will be like it was going from 14 to 15 all retired players, guys playing in other countries etc will turn in to a generic name, no photo and generic face, but everything else should remain the same.

Yup that's what will happen. Oddly enough when a coach retires they keep the name. Ron Washington is managing the Rays in my franchise's universe but he looks half eastern European, half oriental and he doesn't have a mustache. Still has the glasses though.

Height and weight will still be the same. Swing, pitching motion, and fielding may change depending on if they decide to keep that particular players animation in the system. I believe their looks will be editable though so you can edit them to look as close to the player as possible. The devs just can't do that because of legal issues.

I think Washington was a 3b coach on one of the teams when game released if im not mistaken.

I remember reading that your franchise or RTTS would remain the same except for the new features/graphics included in the newer version of the show.

Recall having to do that with Jeter when carrying over my incomplete 14 Chise to 15. Number and position were the same, had to mess around with name, face, stance and accessories, if I recall. Been a while.

Any player or coach that is no longer part of the MLBPA when you carryover the franchise will be generic. The only thing that stays the same is height, weight, service time, & career stats. Like someone mentioned earlier just mess with the face and stances and change the name back to whatever it was previously.

                Hmm...

I had Oscar Tavares in a MLB14 franchise. When I carried over, he was still in my MLB15 franchise.

He also stayed as he was in my Marlins franchise. (I edited his name to be generic in both)

He didn't turn generic - he had the same name, audio, etc. It was like he was still in the league.

Was he a CAP created by you/someone else or SCEA in your roster? That's the former talking, he would be removed/generic'd if the latter.

It was the OSFM roster of 2014. So does that make him a CAP even though I believe they use the base SCEA roster (so all the real players are in already)?

He was a CAP in 14 with OSFM. They didn't use the SCEA version. I used the CAP version and carried over. He was there. When I used the SCEA version he became generic.

Oh okay, didn't know they made their own roster that year.
