Long Reliever gets save?

Phillies(cpu) @ Braves(me). Score is 0 - 6. My Starter plays for 6.0 innings. My SP/LR comes in and pitches 7, 8, and 9th to finish the game. How does he get the save? He pitched more then an inning, and there was a 6 run lead when he came in.

A save just has to be at least an inning. There's no rules for how long an appearance can be.

1. He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his team;
2. He is not the winning pitcher;
3. He is credited with at least ⅓ of an inning pitched; and
4. He satisfies one of the following conditions:

a. He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning

b. He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, at bat or on deck

c.He pitches for at least three innings.

Oh, ok. I thought he couldnt pitch more then 1 and 2/3 innings and it had to be no more then 3 run lead. Well damn, I could have gave my closer a easy save lol. My closers only blow saves when there is a 1 run lead everytime.

if a RP pitches 3 or more innings he gets a save in that situation you were in.
