Need some help in Franchise mode

I'm really enjoying 15 and can't wait for 16 to come out. The only problem is I'm having trouble training my players. Should I leave it on auto? What attributes should I look at when picking what my players should train at? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Just leave it on auto, at least that's what I do.

I too tried playing with the training and found absolutely no positive changes so I ended up leaving it the same. If there was any change between setting them or leaving them I didn't see it.

I keep about %80 of my guys on auto. The only time that I don't is when I know that a guys is really only ever going to be one type of player or if their durability is low.

Examples: A guy has great running stats, mediocre fielding and has good contact and vision, but no power. Auto will probably try to raise his power but it's obvious that he's going to be a lead off hitter and training his power is a waste and could be used other places.

A guy's lowest stat is in the teens but his durability is only 30. Auto will probably train the lowest stat in this case but a player needs a much higher durability if they are ever going to have a chance to play at the MLB level.

There is a lot of personal judgement. The effect it has varies from player to player. For the most part auto is pretty good but there are always exceptions.

training almost feels like it does nothing. but i tend to adjust my rookies training. i list what they need to improve upon before i draft them and when i see their stat being low but their potential for said stat is high then i will adjust training to work on that stat.

for example some random player you are going to draft and on the stat card before you draft that person it shows for example 30 contact but his potential says 80. then i will adjust training for contact.

i usually always adjust it to work on the stat that can improve the most first.
