I'm about to begin a franchise, and I'm confused about "CPU roster control"
It may be a little unusual way to use the game, but I want the CPU to have control over all 30 teams along with full control of trades, lineups, managing injuries, etc. Does selecting "yes" to CPU roster control give this power to the CPU or do I have it backwards and does it mean I control the CPU 's roster? I'm a little confused over the wording description on the screen. I want to get this right since you can't go back and change it once you get started and well into the game. Thanks in advance for your help.Tags: None -
Re: I'm about to begin a franchise, and I'm confused about "CPU roster control"
I suggest this....
Create 2 profiles
One with YOUR preferences.....for the team you want to absolutely control
Two with everything set to AUTO(the CPU)
Now when you start....check off the box for every team to "control". Give your profile to the team you want(the R stick switches profiles)...and the CPU profile for all the other 29 teams.
You now have given control to the CPU for those teams...but you can still step in and change anything you don't like that they do.\
You do lose the GM contract with this...but it's the only caveat.
DO NOT choose the CPU ROSTER CONTROL option....it shuts off trades and injuries....it's the old version of choosing each team and assigning profiles that was never removed...but it limits things in your franchise.

Re: I'm about to begin a franchise, and I'm confused about "CPU roster control"
Thanks for your help. I don't want to control any of the front office stuff for any of the teams. I want the CPU to do it all. Like I said, it's a strange way to use the game, but I only want to be a spectator with no control of any and watch how it plays out with a slider set and roster I found on here. I want transactions and injuries to take place and be handled and managed by the CPU. So, do I still leave CPU roster control at "no" ?
You want CPU vs. CPU mode to just watch games.
You still want to choose all 30 teams and assign them ALL the CPU profile(that has all options set to AUTO...this gives the duties to the CPU GM).
You can then choose any game on the schedule and just hit PLAY GAME.
It will still let you fix anything that goes amiss with the CPU GM moves.(such as when it places a RP in the starting rotation due to an SP injury)
It's the last reason I still "control"(well....just choose the option.....I don't control anything) all 30 teams to start.

Yes.....you do NOT want to choose the CPU ROSTER CONTROL option. That shuts off injuries and trades.(it's for those that want to micro manage every move)
