As a uniform nerd, I absolutely hate the "slot" system. With that being said, scea totally misuses them. Take the Rays for example. Why do they need identical throwback and old throwback uniforms with the only difference being a hat? Make home, road, road alt navy, home alt Columbia blue, throwback home devil rays, throwback road devil rays with the other hat (which allows you to pick between two hats) and throwback old the faux back uni and you could match it with the faux back they wore at Chicago the previous year. For teams like the mariners, put the teal jersey in the bp slot (without the spring training patches that will drop when season starts) and put the cream unis in that slot. You now have the navy, teal, gray, white, and creams as options. My final suggestion would be to eliminate the "old" option for teams. The Pirates NEVER wear the old blue/red so you could put in their camo set in that "slot."

I wish it was that simple but it's not, we are 100% bound by the style guide zero exceptions. We've made changes based on real life and we immediately had to revert them back to what's in the style guide. Also some uniforms are not owned by the team therefore we cant' use them.Comment

Hopefully the style guide for the Angels has been updated to include a red belt. In the game they are still black, but they have worn red belts for 2 years now.Comment

Re: New 2016 Jerseys
I think he meant the style guide may have an issue like the white sox may not have a picture of their throwback batting helmet so if they change it to real life, they were restricted to use the black helmet. As far as teams owning uniforms, I'm pretty sure the biggest screw up, for example, is even though the hurricanes are the whalers, they don't own the whalers logo and colors. Maybe Seattle owns the pilots, hence are given to the Mariners rather than the BrewersComment

Hopefully in the future a uniform editor or uniform vault will allow each user to customize their uniform options.Comment

[QUOTE=dran1984;2047993420]Most people are not advocating updated throwbacks, but we want the correct modern day options. This is a modern day game not a retro MLB game. Most of the throwbacks in the game are NEVER worn by teams.
With Legends making a comeback into The Show...I would disagree.
There are more historical roster makers covering numerous, numerous years, so I'd say your first point is debatable as well.
Most in HERE might be "advocating" modern options....but all in all I think how many wanting retro unis would be quite large.

That's why a roster vault would be great IMO....Even if it's a vault that only SCEA could put rosters in.
They could make new ones both old an new each year and WE could choose which ones we would put into the current amount of slots.
Heck...I would use all the current slots just for retro uniforms!

Re: New 2016 Jerseys
How many times did the Mariners wear cream last year? How many times did they wear Seattle Pilots? While cool, retro shouldn't take the slot of present day options. I mean, I wouldn't want nba to leave out the magics alt jersey in favor of a throwback because you could get some shaq in my team or whatever that's calledLast edited by cherman24; 02-05-2016, 09:28 PM.Comment

Re: New 2016 Jerseys
And what do you say to the people who regularly use those jerseys? Or use them for historic rosters? Or have a team to match for a "throwback night"? I'm sure there is a reason why SCEA uses the system that they do and why they have so many throwbacks (I think I remember them saying that their metrics say that the throwbacks are popular, but I can't remember for sure).Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Obviously, the history of the game is important, but the present should take priority over the past.
Either way, this game needs more uniform slots or find a way altogether to bypass uniform slots and get all the necessary jerseys in the game.NFL : Atlanta Falcons
MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

You say you're trying to best emulate what is seen in major league baseball TODAY, as that's what MLB The Show is striving for, replicating the game of baseball as it is today.
