Fired in Franchise Mode - Missed the Goals

MLB the Show 15 - PS4 Version.....if I play franchise mode, miss the goals laid out for me in that 3 yr window the game gives you will I be automatically fired?

IF I am fired does the mode end and go back to 2015 calendar or is there a cool feature where another team will hire me.

In other words the franchise continues at the date i was fired, and I just have to move on and control another team.

    Thanks in advance!

the goals change for the team you were the gm for. they will be tougher. so you can still be the same team but the goals will be tough.

Makes sense, but is there a situation where you will switch teams during franchise mode?

Yes....you will get offers from other teams at the end of your contract.

I don't think you're ever fired mid contract though.

Re: Fired in Franchise Mode - Missed the Goals

            I have a couple questions.

When my contract is up, do I get the option to sign a longer contract or is it always three years?

Also, what triggers a firing? I'm trying to determine if the last year of my contract is a goof time to trigger a rebuild, since I've already completed my contract goal and will have two yearly goals under my belt. I really do want to stay with my team.

you have to have all goals complete to get a contract offer from your current team. i read someone else took a screen shot of a goal screen where he missed one yearly goal and got fired and wondered why.. that would be the reason...

you must complete all yearly and contract goals if you want to even have a chance at your current team not firing your

Re: Fired in Franchise Mode - Missed the Goals

GM mode was a good idea but it needs to be tweaked. Two major problems are when you carry over a saved franchise you are forced into GM mode unless you are using 30 team control.

Second, eventually the goal becomes win the world series which isn't realistic. The teams which currently have GM vacancies IRL are:

Red Sox - finished last place
                Phillies - finished last place
                Mariners - losing record
                Brewers - losing record
Angels - winning record, high payroll, missed playoffs
                Marlins - losing record

Perhaps each team could have an owner personality will goals varying depending on the owner. Some owners spend liberally, some are tightwads regardless of whether the team is winning.

It needs a rework and it needs to be optional when carrying over a save. The whole reason for carrying over a save is to continue your franchise, not to be fired if you don't win the world series.

It has been a while since this happened but when I carried over my save and eventually figured out I had been forced into GM mode I simmed to the end of my GM contract to see what would happen. My memory could be flawed but I think I was "fired" but given the option to return to my team - Marlins - or several other teams. My updated goal with the Marlins if I chose to return was win the world series.

OK hopefully you can turn this off once you carry over to MLB 16, cause I started this franchise in 14 and I'll be pissed if I get fired for not winning the division EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

That, or more reasonable goals/firing conditions.

well the one franchise i had with the Reds, i completed the yearly goal twice, but at the end of the 3rd year, the goals changed from yearly of over .500, contract goal was make post season. to, reach post season to winning the world series. i think you can go back to the team but the goals will be tougher to reach.

In MLB 15 you could only turn it off in carry over saves if you were using 30 team control which I don't use.

I submitted a bug report but no news on whether it was fixed.
