You can make it a lot of the time because after catching the ball for the out, the 1st baseman will get stuck in a casual catch animation and come to a complete stop before making a throw to another base, even if the throw was preloaded well ahead of time. Just really happy to see this alleviated, it's something that has bothered me a lot over the years.
I'm a little upset that they've done this, actually. I could often score from 2nd on a ground-out with my RttS guy who has 99 speed, +7 from his equipment boost. With 106 total speed, I dang well should be able to safely make it. Now I won't be able to use that completely unrealistic cheese in this year's game. Cancelling my pre-order now.

I was never in the camp that posted about how pitchers "didn't seem like they showed much power in their pitches," but after looking at that gif I have something to comment about (keep in mind I didn't look back at any pitching mechanics in the video itself). The only reason I even thought about it is because I'm fresh off hosting a youth softball clinic on Saturday and we went over throwing mechanics.

Pitchers and players don't really seem to be using their front side. By that, I mean their "glove hand side." If anybody knows anything about throwing, more often than not the glove hand will lead the throwing plane, but upon throwing the ball it will pull and tuck in, almost into chicken-wing form. This speeds up the entire body because everything is closer to your rotational axis (which is neither horizontal nor vertical, but somewhat "diagonal" since your throw comes from one side of your body and down to the other).

Here's just but one real life example:

                      <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iRPtVfEz4es" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Yet in the game, when the front side gets what I call "lazy," it does diminish the look of the power of the pitch.

Curious as to who did the mo-cap sessions on those ones is all, because I would not expect that look to come to be if somebody was giving max strength on a pitch or throw (or anything close to it). Just my observation.

One thing I thought of that I hope changes back is the camera on long, close foul balls. I didn't like in '15 when you hit a deep ball down the line that you thought could be out, the camera just instead stayed behind the batter, essentially showing you it was going to be foul instead of tracking the ball. I hope that goes back to tracking the ball instead.

Otherwise, my goodness. IK is going to make it look smoother, love the out of place stuff, and all of the new animations. That's all impressive. LOVE seeing the outside the stadium stuff too, and love that things move now. Can't wait to hear more on that.
I totally agree about missing the " foul ball camera " !!!! I loved watching tracking a foul ball but they removed that feature last year. We need more votes for this !!!! Does anyone know if it's returning this year ???

Also a good way to show stadium upgrades.
Really hope this was added back in as well as walkups!!

                              Very thoughtful post as usual.

Although I do think pitching deliveries have improved tremendously over the past few years, what I feel about the result of mo-cap is that all these pitching animations quite often look as if they came out of "shadow pitching" sessions without the mo-capped person actually throwing the ball at near full strength. Without the ball in hand, I think many people don't have the body movement that they would otherwise make actually doing the real thing.

Another issues is unavoidable given that I don't think the devs have a couple dozen different people doing mo-cap, but because of the mo-cap guy's need for being self-conscious about imitating somebody else's natural movement (for the imitated, that can be done out of muscle memory and without being too self conscious), the delivery loses some of the dynamism that would naturally exhibit itself when a pitcher tries to maximize power at the pitch release by their body movement.

I just watched most of the streams (skipped a bit here and there). Did they show the new different running animations and new swings? If so, can anyone tell me at what point during the streams or at least how they looked? Thanks.
