If they do, they'd better name it something else....

Yes, but it's a very easy pitch. It will always perform on the first throw, but it's not a long-term pitch you'd want to keep around forever.

              No, slider/cutter.

Apparently the Orioles don't allow cutters to be thrown so he tinkered with his and turned it into a hybrid and no it doesn't need to be in the game at all.

I'm be more than delighted to make slutters staples of my life, but not necessarily in The Show.

I think it will only exacerbate the "issues" that the Accurate-Pitch-Repertoire-For-2016 crowd have had with the pitch labeling system The Show uses. It would just be another avenue where people find inconsistencies in labeling things.

Longer term, I'd rather see a system where there are finer controls of actual physics of pitches, and not just on labels.

I believe Jonathan Papeldouche throws it as well.

The only thing he throws is fisticuffs.

Instead of adding in new pitches I'd rather we have some control over the movement of pitches similar to MVP 2005. Was great in that you could have a down-slider or a slow slurve-ish type breaking ball. I'd rather they reduce the number of pitch types and add in a movement option. For instance you could just have curveball instead of Curve, 12-6 Curve, Slurve, Sweeping. You'd just pick Curveball and 10-4 if you wanted more slurve type movement. I think you'd still want to differentiate things like fastball and sinker for commentary and aesthetics so that you knew who a sinker-ball pitcher was. But I think it would be awesome if we could have Wainwright and Fernandez both throw curveballs, just with different movement types associated with them. They already added in the pitch f/x movements which was a big step IMO already.

This thread makes me giggle. Thumbs up.

Just keep it clean and leave the mothers out of it folks.

I wonder if Jake got embarassed when he went excitedly to his coach and said "Coach, I just learned a new pitch!"

"That's great Jake, what is it?"
