Question about MLB 16 Online
I have not kept in a loop with all the live streams etc. Just wondering if anything has been said by the devs about improvements to online play for MLB 16? I know MLB 14/15 suffered from bad syncing issues. Has anything been said about this being fixed or will online play improvements be casted aside like the past few years?? Thanks!Tags: None -
Re: Question about MLB 16 Online
They had a Diamond Dynasty stream. Talked about they did some balancing and removed so cheese tactics, haven't seen much more than that. -
Re: Question about MLB 16 Online
I am talking just more general online like lobby room games and exhibition games vs buddies. In years past the SYNC issues have been horrible. Guys jittering everywhere. We would both see things differently on each others screens which can't happen in baseball.Comment

Re: Question about MLB 16 Online
I just want to know if the technical issues from previous years online play have been resolved. So if you get to ask him more questions please ask if the online sync issues have been resolved.Comment

Re: Question about MLB 16 Online
I have a feeling synch issues could still potentially be a problem at times since they haven't really been brought up as being improved or fixed in any of the "Fact Sheets" or Twitch streams.
The most glaring problems are not knowing where the ball actually is while base running and the other is a really bad one where a pitched ball disappears into a "portal" and then reappears somewhere else in the strike zone.
Not sure if it helps with these issues but I try to play in minor league parks whenever possible.Comment

Re: Question about MLB 16 Online
I played my first online game just 2 days ago. This problem was really bad.
I'd hit a ball into the gap and see the ball, apparently, go to the wall so I stretched it into a double. Only when the next batter came up the bases showed empty. The only thing I could think was that the ball was actually stopped by the outfielder and that I was thrown out at second. I did not see any of that happen though.
I did not know whether it was an issue with my connection, my opponents connection or whether it was just normal.Comment

Re: Question about MLB 16 Online
I am sure they worked hard to improve, but we probably won't know much honestly until the game comes out. Last year was a huge improvement over MLB 14 and they totally rehauled how their online works for 14, so this year I'd expect it to take another step into the good direction.
Most of the people from last gen probably do not even realize the changes they've made, but basically each pitch goes offline temporary after the pitching team's input and then the hitting team will see the pitch lag free (most of the time) and enter their input and once the ball is hit then it goes "live". The problem was that a lot of synching issues would occur to the baserunning team. I think overall the online was good but not great last year.
I imagine online rated, lobbies, leaderboards, etc will be roughly the same, but it would be nice to see it covered in a stream.Comment

- Online rated will it be the same?
- Game Rooms same options and lobby parameters?
- Play vs friends, same notification system or will they final utilize XMB?
- Mic vs Mic via party chat only?
- Online HR derby same format with new rules incorporated?
- The Shownation live games feature missed being able to follow along league games while at work, but since PS4 it is now all platforms and not able to follow along.
- Why no longer allow daddyleague support?
- etc
